Milwaukee, WI — Good City Brewing–the first brewery on Milwaukee’s densely populated East Side–has announced that it will open its taproom to the public on June 17 with what it believes is the first Crowler canning machine used by a Milwaukee area brewery. Crowlers are an innovative alternative to the traditional glass growler. Customers will be able to visit the taproom and get fresh Good City beer to-go in 32 oz. aluminum cans designed by Ball Corporation. Each 32 oz. can is filled per order and then sealed by the Crowler machine purchased from Oskar Blues Brewery.

The decision to go with Crowlers starts with a commitment to quality says co-founder and brewmaster Andy Jones. “We’re laser focused on getting fresh and excellent beer into our customers hands, and beer stays fresher longer in aluminum cans by creating a barrier to light and oxygen. Moreover, reusable glass growlers are often not cleaned consistently and properly, which can affect overall beer quality,” says Jones. Good City also chose Crowlers as a more versatile to-go alternative to the traditional glass growler. “Being located so close to the Lake, we wanted a to-go packaging option that fits and enhances the active Wisconsin summer lifestyle. Crowlers will make it easier to enjoy fresh Good City beer at parks and on the water,” explains co-founder Dan Katt.

Good City is the first brewery and taproom on Milwaukee’s East Side. The taproom is set to open to the public on June 17. Good City will provide a sneak peak when it pours its Mosaic Pale Ale and India Pale Ale as part of Sierra Nevada’s Beer Camp Across America event in Milwaukee on June 11.
