Genre: Category romance, Contemporary
Series: None

Nath: The cover first caught my attention and then I liked what I read in the blurb. I think it's the fact that the hero is a businessman and I like that the heroine is a florist.  I've never read Ms Sullivan so hopefully she'll be a new author on my radar.

For the First Time by Stephanie Doyle
published by Harlequin (SuperRomance)

Being a father shouldn't feel this risky!

There's not a lot former CIA agent Mark Sharpe hasn't done. Yet suddenly he's in a world of firsts—first time being a father, first time being self-employed…and first time being attracted to his employee. How is he supposed to function in this messed-up situation?

Then his teenage daughter, Sophie, is threatened. There's only one person he trusts to help him: JoJo. As they work to untangle the mystery, Mark imagines a future together that includes another first—family.
Genre: Category romance
Series: None

Nath: This one is on my radar because the author is Ms Doyle. I'm still looking to read my first book by her LOL. Perhaps this one will be the one...but quite frankly I'm not sure about the story described...

Not Another Wedding by Jennifer Mackenzie
published by Harlequin (Super Romance)

Yeah, yeah… happily ever after. Whatever.

Sure, Poppy Sullivan believes in love…but love at first sight? Not likely. That’s why she’s determined to stop her good friend from marrying the wrong woman. So she sets to work immediately and walks right into the very impressive chest of Beck Lefebvre. Not a good omen, considering how things ended up the last time he was in town.

She isn’t surprised to see Beck at his cousin’s wedding, but she’s appalled at his assumption that he deserves a second chance. She’s equally appalled at her inclination to give it to him. No way is she falling for his charm again! Although her vow to resist him may be too late…
Genre: Category romance, contemporary
Series: None

Nath: Lol Kind of like the opening line of the blurb :) I think this is Ms Mackenzie debut novel and it sounds cute. I like second chances story and seems like in this one the hero as some groveling to do :)

Drawn Together by Lauren Dane
published by Berkley

Beauty is more than skin-deep…

Tattoo artist Raven Smith is blunt and hard, broken and jaded, dark and beautiful. While she doesn’t hide her painful past, she does keep a wall around her heart. She’s free sexually—but no one gets to the real Raven beneath the prickly exterior.

With a voice like smoke, Jonah Warner is a smooth-talking, highly successful attorney, with a body that should never be hidden by a suit. He’s the kind of man who never takes no for an answer and always gets what he wants. And what he wants is Raven. She’s a survivor, and he finds that incredibly alluring.

Jonah gets under her skin in a way Raven has never experienced. He makes her break all her rules—including her no-monogamy rule.

But when a figure from Raven’s past shows up at the tattoo parlor and drops a bomb into her life, their relationship will face the ultimate challenge…
Genre: Contemporary romance, Erotica
Series: Brown Siblings, Book #6

Ames: Oooh Raven got on my nerves in Coming Undone (book 2) so I am very interested in seeing how Lauren Dane is going to bring us around to this character.  And I know she will.  She's good that way.

Nath: Funny how even characters whom we didn't like much, we are still curious :P I've read one or two books in this series and they don't seem to be working for me, so I think I'm going to skip this one.

The Wicked Deeds of Daniel Mackenzie by Jennifer Ashley
published by Berkley

Second Sight And Seduction…

Daniel Mackenzie lives up to the reputation of the scandalous Mackenzie family—he has wealth, looks, and talent, and women love him. When he meets Violet Bastien—one of the most famous spiritual mediums in England—he immediately knows two things: that Miss Bastien is a fraud, and that he’s wildly attracted to her.

Violet knows she can’t really contact the other side, but she’s excellent at reading people. She discerns quickly that Daniel is intelligent and dangerous to her reputation, but she also finds him generous, handsome, and outrageously wicked. But spectres from Violet’s past threaten to destroy her, and she flees England, adopting yet another identity.

Daniel is determined to find the elusive Violet and pursue the passion he feels for her. And though Violet knows that her scandalous past will keep her from proper marriage, her attraction to Daniel is irresistible. It’s not until Daniel is the only one she can turn to that he proves he believes in something more than cold facts. He believes in love.
Genre: Historical romance
Series: Highland Pleasures, Book #6

Ames:  I'm still buying this book even though I'm not caught up on the series.

Nath: I'm getting this book too since it's Daniel and I always liked him. Curious to see the man he has become. Got to say though, the fact the heroine is a medium kind of reminds me of Ms Milan's debut novel...

Spy's Honor by Amy Raby

published by New American Library (Signet)

Rhianne, mind mage and Imperial Princess of Kjall, cannot openly challenge the emperor. Instead, she acts in secret to aid the victims of his worst excesses. But now the emperor plans to wed her to the cruel Augustan, the man leading Kjall’s attack against the nation of Mosar. Soon she will be torn from her supporters and shipped overseas, where she can help no one.

Mosari crown prince Janto is desperate to save his country from invasion. When one of his most trusted spies disappears while gathering intelligence at the Kjallan palace, Janto takes his place and continues searching for information that could save his people. But falling for the Imperial Princess was not part of his plan. Nor was having his true identity revealed…

Now Rhianne must make a choice—follow the path of tradition or the one of the heart, even if it means betraying her own people.
Genre: Fantasy romance
Series: Hearts and Thrones, Book #2

Nath: So I didn't love the first book, but I'm curious about Rhianne and Janto's story... Although the events of this book take place before Assassin's Gambit, so I wonder if Ms Raby is going to be able to pull it off because this can be very tricky.

Love Lessons by Heidi Cullinan
published by Samhain Publishing

Love doesn’t come with a syllabus.

But when he arrives at Hope University, he quickly realizes finding his Prince Charming isn’t so easy. Everyone here is already out. In fact, Kelly could be the only virgin on campus.

Worst of all, he’s landed the charming, handsome, gay campus Casanova as a roommate, whose bed might as well be equipped with a revolving door.

As Walter sets out to lure Kelly out of his shell, staying just friends is harder than he anticipated. He discovers love is a crash course in determination. To make the grade, he’ll have to finally show up for class…and overcome his own private fear that love was never meant to last.
Genre: M/M
Series: None

Ames: I like these kind of stories, an experienced guy drawing someone out of their shell.  And then the experienced guy totally falls for the shy guy.  So yes, definitely going to read this one.  :P  Plus I like Heidi's writing.

Nath: I love the cover!

Nath: Woohoo, can't wait to find out what happens next ! Plus I think this time, it'll be the first time Nico is really in the mix of things instead of on the edges... I always had a weakness for him LOL. At the same time I'm already dreading the cliffhanger and year wait for the final installment ^_^;;

Ames:  I'll be picking this one up for my brothers.  And one day I'll get around to reading this series.  LOL

What Not to Bare by Megan Frampton
published by Random House Publishing (Loveswept)

Lady Charlotte Jepstow certainly knows how to make an impression—a terrible one. Each one of her ball gowns is more ostentatiously ugly than the one before. Even she has been forced to wonder: Is she unmarried because of her abysmal wardrobe, or does she wear clashing clothing because she doesn’t want to be pursued in the first place? But when Charlotte meets Lord David Marchston, suddenly a little courtship doesn’t sound so bad after all.

David will be the first to admit he’s made some mistakes. But when he gets yanked from his post by his superiors, he is ordered to do the unthinkable to win back his position: woo his commander’s niece. If David wants his life back, he must use his skills as a negotiator to persuade society that Charlotte is a woman worth pursuing, despite her rather unusual “flair” for color. But David does such a terrific job that he develops an unexpected problem, one that violates both his rakish mentality and his marching orders: He’s starting to fall in love.
Genre: Historical romance
Series: None

Ames: I enjoyed Megan's writing as Megan Caldwell with Vanity Fare and this one sounds good.

Ames: I am really enjoying this series so far.  I thought the first one was good, solid writing but nothing to swoon over.  But the hero of book 2?  OMG Swoon-worthy at its best.  I should review that one.  I'm looking forward to more in this series.

Running Back by Allison Parr

Determined to kick-start her career, Natalie travels across the Atlantic and finds herself sharing an inn with Mike, who has come to Ireland in search of his roots. She tells herself her interest is strictly professional, but the more she gets to know him, the harder it is to deny her personal attraction to the sexy sports star. And when Mike confides why he refuses to allow the dig, Natalie must decide if she can follow her heart without losing sight of her dreams.
Genre: New Adult
Series: New York Leopards, Book #2

Ames: I had some issues with Rush Me but overall, I thought Allison Parr showed some promise with her writing.  The heroine bugged the crap out of me in that book, if you were wondering.  But I want to read something else by her and I like sports-themed romances.

Ames: I really enjoyed book 1 in this series, Meant to Be.  I thought it was a light fluffy read and I'm interested in the heroine, based on what I saw of her in book 1.  I also have a big weakness for heroines with male names.

Nath: I know how you enjoyed Meant to Be Ames and so I've been wanting to try this author... and I think I'm going to do so with Up to the Challenge. Sounds like much more my speed :)

Ames: Nath, I know you enjoy this author, so I'll wait to see what you think of it. Like I said, I don't really care for Christmas themed books.

When the Marquess Met his Match by Laura Lee Guhrke
published by Harpercollins Publisher (Avon)

What happens when a carefree, disreputable, stone-broke bachelor is forced to find a wife in a hurry? He hires a matchmaker, of course. What happens when the matchmaker doesn’t want to help him? Well, that’s when the fun begins…

Nicholas Stirling, Marquess of Trubridge, loves his life just as it is: dissolute, scandalous, and deuced good fun. His father, the Duke of Landsdowne is not amused, and when he cuts off Nicholas’ trust fund, the fun-loving marquess is forced to find an alternate source of income—in other words, he has to marry an heiress.

Every new-money American heiress knows Lady Belinda Featherstone is the key to social acceptance. Once a new-money nobody herself, Belinda discovered first-hand how heartbreaking the game of love and matrimony could be after a reprobate British earl married her for her money. Now a respectable widow, Belinda has become England’s most successful matchmaker, guiding young American heiresses through the hazards of the London season and helping them to find husbands worthy of them. To her mind, the Marquess of Trubridge is nothing but a fortune-hunting scoundrel and she has no intention of allowing him to charm his way into any American girl’s heart, including her own.
