Children could be exposed to a possible injury risk associated with certain school buses manufactured by A-Z Bus Sales, Inc., reports published by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration indicate.

According to the official release, the 2005 through 2013 Blue Bird A3RE and D3RE buses have been recalled after the company learned that the White-brand flip seats in these buses could pose an injury risk to passengers.

The reports show that the flip seats come with a gap in the lower frame area of the seat that could pose a risk if the passenger places his or her feet or foot in the gap and someone pushes the seat bottom downward to the horizontal position to take a seat. According to the NHTSA, this movement could make the occupant of the rearward seat suffer a pinch point injury to their toes.

Consumers with the affected buses should contact A-Z Bus to have any questions or concerns addressed to the manufacturer as soon as possible.
