New Holland was founded in 1895 in a small repair shop in Pennsylvania, U.S.A. Named by the city where it was founded, New Holland started quickly became a world-known brand. Today, it is known as one of the best manufacturers of construction & agricultural equipment. In 1947, the company developed the first hydraulic excavator in the world. Marion Bruneri was the innovator of the first hydraulic excavator, which was designed with a hydrostatic pump piston. The mass production of the hydraulic excavators began in Turin, Italy. The initial success of the hydraulic excavators was followed by another one, the first New Holland backhoe loader. New Holland joined the big Fiat in 1991, and the two companies still function together, as they complement each other with similar product offers and with world-wide product coverage.
