Hey guys! Welcome back after spring break. Hope yours was restful!
The first day back, get back in the groove. Most of you are still learning photoshop. Don’t even pick up where you left off, just take the day to experiment with and re-acquaint yourself with photoshop. Look over previous missions you’ve done and try to do some fun little experiments with sample graphics off the web. Have a little fun. Get 2 or 3 friends together and have a mini competition for “funniest graphic with a picture of [insert celebrity du jour here].” But the winner is the one where the final image is most believable and the text and elements look best. Make a new CD cover for your fave band (same rules- best designER, not design, wins).
Take a day to get back in the creative, digital mood. And to get you there, I’m going to introduce you to a new resource: DAILY INSPIRATION at Abduzeedo. Bookmark it. It’s an amazing resource and every single day they have a new post that lists amazing images of design and creative talent. Some of our students have been featured there!
Check the DI every single day, first thing. Get into the habit of looking at great art from ALL different styles. This is critical. Change things up. Learn, get inspired, extend your skills.
Daily inspiration with a couple friends as well. Talk it over. What do you like about the images? Which do you hate? Why?
Daily inspiration and then just do something small and fun with the skills you’re learning with Photoshop. Today you get to go to google and use whatever school appropriate images you’d like. If it’s just for learning and experimenting, you don’t have to worry about copyright… but you CAN’T post it to your blog… then it WOULD be a copyright problem!
