The National Geographic Traveler Photo Contest 2014 has just begun. Have you captured your best shot yet? Channel the power of photography and share your stunning travel experiences from around the globe through your lenses. The official categories include: Travel Portraits, Outdoor Scenes, Sense of Place, and Spontaneous Moments. Upload your image via the NatGeo contest site along with your entry form and a $15 entry fee. Ten (10) entries in each category will be selected in Round 1 and will move on to Round 2 wherein the Judges will collectively select a First Place winner of an 8-day Alaska's Inside Passage Expedition in a Category 2 cabin aboard the National Geographic Sea Lion or National Geographic Sea Bird with National Geographic Expeditions for the winner and one (1) guest in 2015. Next is the Second Place winner of a 5-day National Geographic Photography Workshop in Santa Fe. The Third Place winner, on the other hand, will receive a 6-day cruise for two (2) from Schooner American Eagle and Heritage. There will also be Merit Prizes wherein seven winners will each be given a US$200 gift certificate to B&H Photo. In addition to these awesome prizes, your winning image will be featured in the December 2014/January 2015 edition of National Geographic Traveler and n the National Geographic Traveler photo contest website.
Contest Requirements:
Open to individuals who have reached the age of majority in their jurisdiction of residence at the time of entry
Note: Cuba, Iran, New Jersey, North Korea, Sudan or Syria are not allowed to join
Entry fee of US$15 per entry

Entry Guidelines:
Entry must be your own original material
Photographs must be in digital format (JPEG or .jpg)
Only online entries will be eligible
The photograph need not be taken with a digital camera; scans of negatives, transparencies or photographic prints are acceptable
Must be 20 megabytes or smaller
Must be at least 1,600 pixels wide (if a horizontal image) or 1,600 pixels tall (if a vertical image)
Photographs must have been taken within two (2) years before the date of entry and may not previously have won an award in the National Geographic International Photography Contest, the National Geographic Photography Contest or any National Geographic Traveler photo contest
Only minor burning, dodging and/or color correction is acceptable, as is cropping
Photographs that include sculptures, statues, paintings, and other works of art will be accepted as long as they do not constitute copyright infringement or fraud
The caption must be complete and accurate, sufficient to convey the circumstances in which the photograph was taken
Upload your entry/ies via the National Geographic Traveler Photo Contest 2014 website along with the online entry form and fee
Judging Criteria:
50% Creativity
50% Photographic quality
Ten (10) entries in each Category will be selected in Round 1 and will move on to Round 2 wherein the Judges will collectively select a winner for each prize level based on the Judging Criteria
