nterprises Embrace Coast-to-Coast Business Continuity / Disaster Recovery (BC/DR) Model
VMworld US 2012
Booth 2223
NEW YORK & SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Today at VMworld® 2012, NTT America, a global IT infrastructure services provider and wholly-owned subsidiary of NTT Communications Corporation (NTT Com), announced it has extended its RaaS portfolio with the addition of Cloud Recovery, an enterprise-grade, cloud-based replication solution that meets the strict requirements of enterprises seeking to ensure business continuity for their mission-critical applications in the event of planned or unplanned outages. Delivered leveraging NTT America’s Enterprise Cloud and partnership with Geminare, NTT America’s Cloud Recovery affords clients across the United States the opportunity to seamlessly re-direct end-users from production to replica environments in minutes. NTT America’s Cloud Recovery is available immediately in the United States.
NTT America’s Cloud Recovery advances the NTT Communications Cloud Vision, which calls for global and seamless cloud resources that enterprise customers can easily control and manage in order to utilize their information and communications (ICT) assets strategically and expand their business globally. NTT Com is one of the few available partners providing companies with access to a single virtualized global data center for scalable and seamless services, supported by virtualized servers and networks created via links within and across its data centers. Cloud Recovery offers the highest availability for these virtualized data centers by providing seamless business continuity, with the industry-unique ability to return end users to their production systems with a single click, ensuring continued operations for end clients.
Designed for organizations with demanding requirements for operational uptime, NTT America’s Recovery as a Service portfolio offers cost-effective, best-in-class disaster recovery options for businesses of all sizes. The small, medium, or large enterprise client determines the level of cloud-based disaster recovery required for their critical applications and functions based RTO (recovery time objective) and RPO (recovery point objective). NTT America works with the client to ensure business continuity according to the client’s RTO/RPO goals in the event of a server failure, scheduled downtime or full-blown disaster. NTT America has cloud experts on-hand to discuss Cloud Recovery and the entire RaaS portfolio this week at VMworld 2012 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, CA. NTT America’s booth number is 2223.
NTT America’s Recovery as a Service Portfolio:
Cloud Recovery – NTT America’s Cloud Recovery protects business operations by replicating all operating systems, applications and data in real-time to a secure environment in NTT America’s Enterprise Cloud. It is a managed cloud service that provides secure, real-time server replication from anywhere in the United States with automatic failover and failback, ensuring data protection and high availability from a secure NTT America Enterprise Cloud platform. The service, which leverages NTT America’s vCloud® Powered Enterprise Cloud, requires no capital investment and can be deployed within hours. It consists of two offerings that can operate independently or in conjunction:
Cloud-to-Cloud server replication between NTT America data centers for enterprises currently using NTT services and applications.
Premises-to-Cloud server replication between enterprise private infrastructure (private or hybrid clouds) and an NTT America data center, for use with enterprise services and applications.
Data and Application Continuity – Powered by Asigra, NTT America Cloud Backup is an agent-less architecture that continuously backs up a business’ data to the NTT America data center. Businesses save time by only having to set the backup parameters once; the continuous data protection then incrementally adds new data blocks. The de-duplication feature ensures that only new data is added to the backup system making the entire process less resource-intensive on both the hardware and network. The virtual disaster recovery and application restoration aspects of the system ensure that mission critical data and applications are easily recovered in the event of a disaster. NTT America’s Cloud Backup complies with Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS) 140-2, the most current federal standard for encryption.
Long-Term Data Archiving – NTT America’s Cloud Archiving addresses regulations that mandate the long-term storage of a business’ data, files and applications. Equally critical in the archiving process is establishing the end-to-end chain of custody through monitoring and tracking who has access to certain types of information and when. The end-to-end chain of custody document generated by NTT America’s Cloud Archiving service enables a business to prove in a court of law and validate that data was not changed or manipulated while archived. If changed, a SAS 70 continuous archive auditing system notes the time, person and change made to the archive. Setting new standards, NTT America’s Cloud Archiving ensures data preservation, integrity and compliance while dramatically reducing archiving costs.
