This will be the third location
A popular eatery with two locations around Boston that specializes in hand-pulled noodles will add a third restaurant in the area. Gene’s Chinese Flatbread Cafe will open at 175 Littleton Rd. in Westford by the end of the year, according to Boston Magazine.
The proprietor, Gene Wu, came to the United States from Xi’an, China 15 years ago, to study chemistry, but he later went into the noodle-pulling business. Gene’s originally opened in Chelmsford in 2011, just down the road from where the new restaurant will be, but it later closed and a new location opened in Woburn. There is another Gene’s in Boston's Downtown Crossing.
This new addition to the Gene’s family will reportedly take over the former Sandrino’s Pizza space in a strip mall along Littleton Road. The restaurant focuses on hand-pulled noodles, in addition to flatbread sandwiches, noodle soups, dumplings, and more.
