After 25 years in the city, the seafood stalwart will close its doors on Clarendon Street.

Not so long ago, Skipjack's (officially Skipjack's Seafood Emporium), which first opened in Boston in 1988, had expanded to include locations in Newton, Natick, and Patriot Place in Foxborough. Newton and Natick closed within the past few years, and by the end of 2014, only Foxborough may remain.

As first reported by the Boston Hospitality and Tourism Industry Blog, the longtime resident of 199 Clarendon Street will be closing, possibly very soon. No details have been posted on the restaurant's social media channels. However, a Facebook post earlier in the week advertised the Boston location's holiday catering options, suggesting that it may be open at least through the new year.
