Free Wi-Fi @ Bossier Parish Libraries.  We have had this service for a while now, but if you have not tried it yet let me tell you about it.  It is most convenient for those who would rather use their own computer instead of a library computer.

Before you get started make sure your BPL library card account is current and in good standing.  Update any information such as a change in address, name, or phone number.  And please read the Wi-Fi policy.

You will need a security key to access the Wi-Fi.  Because the key is changed often the library staff will be happy to provide one for you.  Once you have entered the code to connect to the network you can search the web.

Go to http://www.bossierlibrary.org/wi-fi to complete the registration form for new Wi-Fi users.  Usually, it takes about 2-3 business days to activate the new account.  During this time you may use the “BPL_Guest” account until yours is ready.  An email will be sent to you to let you know your account has been created.

After you are a registered user all you need to do on your next visit is get a security key, turn on your computer, connect to your wireless network and then to “BPL_Public.”  You are set to go.

If your account expires fill out the Wi-Fi User Reauthorization Form and begin the process over again.

Please be aware that because there are so many different types of electronic devices, our library staff will not be able to help you set up your account or troubleshoot your personal device or a library loaned computer.

This is just one of many free services BPL provides for our patrons.  I hope you will visit our libraries and enjoy all of the exciting things your libraries offer.
