PETALING JAYA: Airworld Travel & Tours Sdn Bhd business philosophy of giving customers more than what they bargain for has been rewarded with a gold medal at the prestigious 25th Asia Golden Dragon Awards 2013 on Saturday.

The company based in Kota Kinabalu scooped the ‘Asia Best Service Excellence Award’ category during a glittering and entertaining evening at the One World Hotel.

Airworld Travel executive director Jacky Liaw was on hand to receive the honour from Tengku Iskandar Ahmad of Kelantan during the presentation ceremony which was also witnessed by Golden Dragon president Dato Seri Dr Low Wai Koon and thousands of guests.

Airworld Travel chairman Dato Seri Winston Liaw when met after the event shares: “Providing the best services to our clients has always been our business philosophy since I started the company18 years ago in 1995.”

“I always tell my top management including my sons and wife (who is also the company executive directors) that good services must always start from within the company before it could be transferred down to our clients.

“So we must treat our own staff the same as how we treat our clients in order to create a sense of belonging, only then they can work with efficiency,” he said.

“If the top management look after their welfare, in return they will also appreciate our caring attitude and work hard.

“So when our clients participate in our tour packages we must make sure they enjoy the holiday to the fullest because we always give more than the value that they pay in the contract and what we had committed,” emphasised Winston.

“And the management wished to thank all the staff of Airworld Travel for the good service they had given to all our clients as without their sincerity, the company would not have won the award,” stated Winston.

Besides giving the best service, he said Airworld Travel was also the pioneer in Sabah to mount chartered direct flights to sell Sabah to China starting in 2000 with Shenzhen as the first destination.

For the convenient of its clients, he said Airworld Travel had also launched its internet bookings and the holidaymakers can get all the information and tour packages online at www.airworld.com.my.

“We are slowly developing our online system and this is also to further improve our service to a next level as we gear towards creating a payment gateway in future,” said Winston.

“Our clients from all over the world can go into the website to even customise their holiday itinerary,” he said.

Airworld Travel which also had a branch in Tawau and extensive networking in all the major towns in Malaysia provided all sorts of inbound and outbound packages including fly and cruise to promote domestic and overseas travels, he said.

Airworld Travel two other executive directors Datin Margaret Kon and Thomson Liaw also attended the event.
