I received a Tic Tac Bananas app download  for this review. I was not compensated for this post. My opinions are my own and not by any means influenced by any other part.

A few weeks ago I was offered the opportunity to try a new kid’s application from Evanced Solutions. The app is made to improve player literacy, by using word recognition, phonics and decoding with the help of cute monkey characters.

The app has two different game formats. When using the practice mode kids are given a picture of the monkeys in action and a set of letters to complete the word on the screen.

The words are easy, so kids with a little bit of reading skills can complete and of course the use the recognition method to help the kids to complete the word.

The second format and my favorite is a Tic-Tac-Toe game with a twist. With this format you need two players and they are given a board as you will find in a Tic-Tac-Bananas game but in each square you will find a monkey and a scenario, after you touch the specific scenario you pick you will be given a word to complete, if you complete the word correctly, you will get a banana peel or a coconut to fill the Tic-Tac-Bananas square you have chosen.

If one of the players gets the answer wrong, they do not get to fill up their square and a new scenario comes up and takes the player to the home screen meaning that player number two has a new turn.

My daughter is turning 7 in a couple of weeks and loves the Tic-Tac-Bananas format of the game. She is not into the one player format because the words they use are too easy for her, so this would be more of a younger kid’s format.

On the other hand she really enjoys the Tic-Tac-Bananas 2 players format that I play with her and I have to say it is really fun! It is a great game to play with siblings and really nice for play dates. The game is available for $1.99 on iPhone and Android devices.

You can see the app on iTunes HERE.
