ANNOUNCEMENTS – MANSFIELD HIGH SCHOOL – Thursday, February 11, 2016

The following scholarships are now available. For information see Mrs. Wiggins or Mrs. Server in the counseling office:

The Buick Achiever’s Scholarship is open to seniors enrolling in a four year university or college for 2016-2017 school year and interested in majoring in engineering or technology with a focus on the automotive industry. You may pick up a brochure in the counseling office.

Fort Worth Scottish Rite Scholarship application is open to seniors and awards are based on scholastic, community involvement and extra-curricular activities. Applications may be picked up in the counseling office and are due March 1, 2016.

The Mansfield Multi Scholarship link is now open to all seniors. This link may be found on the MISD website under guidance and counseling/scholarships. Deadline for the Multi Scholarship application is February 26, 2016. The multi scholarship application must be submitted electronically.

Seniors:  Scholarship applications are now available for students in the top 25% of their class that are committed to Prairie View A & M University for the fall of 2016. This is a $5,000 dollar scholarship opportunity for PVAMU. Please stop by the counseling office to pick up an application.  Applications are due no later than 3:oo PM, February 23rd. Applications should be submitted to the counseling office. See the counseling office secretaries for more details!

Seniors:   Scholarship applications are now available for students in the top 20% of their class that are committed to the University of North Texas for the fall of 2016. This is a $1,000 scholarship opportunity for UNT. Please stop by the counseling office to pick up an application. Applications are due no later than 3:00 PM, March 1st. Applications should be submitted to the counseling office. See the counseling office secretaries for more details!

Seniors…if you wish to be considered for the MHS PTSA scholarship, one of the scholarships offered through the MISD Multi scholarship,  you must be a member of the PTSA. Deadline to become a member is Feb 26th . The application for membership is available on the MHS website under RESOURCES.

Junior Parent night will be held tonight, Feb. 11 at 6:30-8:00 p.m. in the MHS cafeteria. Ray Person’s from TX A & M will present information on tackling the college admission process and Thresa Tyus, from Inspired Outreach will explain the financial aid process. Students are encouraged to attend with their parents.

Ok, everybody, EVERYONE AT MHS STOP WHAT YOU ARE DOING this is like, a CRAZY IMPORTANT MESSAGE! Are you a freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior that wants to attend college? Do you want to earn scholarships toward colleges including TCU, Michigan State, and Texas Tech? Did you know you could be doing that RIGHT NOW? These colleges, and almost a hundred more are offering scholarships RIGHT NOW, For easy things, like getting an A, or a B, taking an AP class or even playing a sport, all through your four years of high school! Period. If so, you need to check out Raise.me! This is an awesome website that gives out micro-scholarships, and overtime, you can be making thousands of dollars straight toward YOUR COLLEGE TUITION. Again, this scholarship website is called Raise.me!! Don't pass up this opportunity guys, this is BIG, and EVERYONE at MHS SHOULD DO THIS, because WE ARE COLLEGE BOUND. “Are you interested in trying out for Mansfield High School Cheerleader or Mascot?  If so, the Parent Informational Meeting is being held at the MISD Center for Performing Arts on Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. or Thursday, February 25, 2016 at 7:00 p.m.

Please remember to bring an original, current gas, water or electric bill to the parent informational meeting. All application/residency forms must be received through the new online process no later than 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 10, 2016. Online access to the forms will be made available prior to the start of the first parent meeting.”

Senior Girls, show off your talents AND help people in need by applying to be in the Miss MHS Scholarship Pageant. For more information and to pick up an application, head to Mrs. Henry's room in R10. By participating in the pageant, you will be helping raise money for students who do not receive free/reduced lunches throughout the summer!

Auditions for the Mansfield High School Color Guard will be happening February 24-26. There is no experience needed…. Come to the camps from 5:30-7:30 to see if you have what it takes to make the team.

Auditions are open to all current 9-11th graders.

Come audition, and be a part of the largest organization on campus. Perform at all games, and travel with the band.    Remember auditions start on Wednesday February 24  and last three days.

February is FAFSA month!     If you need help creating your FSA ID or completing the FAFSA application, please stop by the GOCenter and they will be happy to assist you with your needs and answer your questions.
