Kait
Ballenger is a full-time paranormal romance author, wife, bellydancer, graduate
student, and soon-to-be-professor. She is the multi-published, award-winning
author of the Execution Underground paranormal romance series. With a B.A in
English from Stetson University, Kait is currently earning an M.F.A in Writing.
Kait believes anything is possible with hard work and dedication. One day, she
hopes to be a bestseller and to see her novels on the big screen. Look for the

1. I’m a professional
bellydancer of Egyptian Cabaret Bellydance. If you ask Jenese from Readers
Confession nicely, she might show you a video of me bellydancing at the
Elemental Ball at Authors After Dark 2013 in Savannah.
2. I’m a black belt in
Tang Soo Do Moo Duk Kwan and have competed in International tournaments.
3. I was born and
raised in Detroit, Michigan.
4. I live in Central
FL.
5. I graduated with a
B.A in English with minors in Creative Writing, Spanish, and Women and Gender
Studies from Stetson University.
6. I graduate with an
M.F.A in Creative Writing from Spalding University in November.
7. For my M.F.A I
specifically studied in Writing for Children and Young Adults. I also spent a
semester of outside study in screenwriting.
8. Some of my favorite
T.V shows are Breaking Bad, Supernatural, Sons of Anarchy, Boardwalk Empire,
and Law and Order: Special Victims Unit.
9. I’ve named all my
animals after fictional characters. My dog is named after Sookie from the
Southern Vampire Series by Charlainne Harris and my cats are named Elliot and
Olivia like the original Law and Order SVU characters.
10. My favorite series
is the Harry Potter series by J.K Rowling and that was what first got me
interested in reading.
11. I was considered a
“non-reader” until I reached the 4th grade and picked up my first
Harry Potter book. Then, I fell in love with reading.
12. When I was in high
school I was sort-of a band geek. I was section leader of the front ensemble
percussion section.
13. Even though I was a
band-geek, I was a cool band-geek. I was on homecoming court twice in high
school. I was the freshman and junior princess.
14. I speak proficient
Spanish. Most people would consider me fluent, but I won’t consider myself
fluent until I can speak just as smoothly as a native.
15. I’m Polish and a
second generation American. I’ve been to Poland, but only speak a few words of
the language.
16. My favorites colors
are green and purple.
17. My middle name is
Charlotte, after my Polish grandma who Americanized her Polish birth name to
Charlotte.
18. I’m the oldest of
three children and my younger siblings are twins.
19. I met my husband in
a creative writing class in college. He’s a screenwriter by day, bartender by
night.
20. One of my favorite
foods—true to my Polish roots—is pierogi.
