Review
Guys… this book doesn’t come out until March, but it’s one you NEED to have on your radar. The story is unique and captivating. It’s my first book by Colleen Oakley, but I’ll be picking up more of her work.
What would you do if you couldn’t touch another person… ever? Jubilee was easily my favorite character in this book. She’s stayed in her house for YEARS until she has to leave in order to get a job. She grows soooo much throughout the book. She becomes a stronger person who doesn’t second guess everything. I love the way she connects with people when she can’t physically touch them. I couldn’t imagine living my life like that. Not feeling the warmth and love a simple hug could bring.
Eric has his own issues. He’s struggling as a parent. He’s not sure what to do about his relationship with his daughter, and worries he’s screwing everything up with his adopted son. Now, his son doesn’t exactly make things easy for him but I think he learns that parenting isn’t all sunshine and rainbows. You have to connect with them in different ways. What works for one child doesn’t work for another. I loved seeing Eric and Aja’s relationship throughout this book.
Honestly… just pick this book up in March. You won’t regret it. You’ll get sucked in and not want to put it down.
