Dutch DJ and producer Vincent Kriek aka HP Vince returns to the Bonzai stable with a deep techno stomper entitled “City Jungle”, the track also comes with a superb remix from Roderick Fox. Vincent is also better known as DJ Vincenzo, Automode, Black Onyx and in groups like Menthol and Yamakasi with Laurent Veronnez. He has seen quite a few releases on labels like Musashi, Bonzai Limited, Bonzai Music, Bonzai Trance Progressive and Green Martian to name just a few.
The Original Mix is an absolute stomper of a tune, seriously heavy kicks and rhythmic percs provide the intro with a few sweeping FX adding cool textures. The rhythm builds nicely as the hats do their work. An almost retro type bass comes through giving the track wonderful depth while some brilliant tribal drums keep the groove flowing. The break transforms into full on drum mania mode with many different drums coming in to the sound before getting back into that solid pulsating groove, top notch.
Sounds R Us Recordings regular Roderick Fox is up on remix duties with a total techno workout on offer. Tight arrangements give off a steady flowing rhythm while a classic style bass keeps the track rooted in the groove. Wonderful risers are dotted throughout and some classy percussion work raises the tracks profile beautifully. The track is all wrapped up with expert FX work and really sets the scene perfectly, superb stuff.
