The Ghazi Attack Movie Review

1.) Rating: 3/5. Review by Renuka Vyavahare on Times of India

While the visuals and special effects lack finesse, the film compensates for it with its riveting story. The second half keeps you on the edge of your seat as the submarines go head-to-head, firing torpedoes while dodging and defending themselves. Despite the hitches, this underwater thriller is worth a watch. It leaves you in awe of the soldiers, who lay their lives for their country.

2.) Rating:1.5/5. Review by Shalini Langer on Indian Express

You know how a film that strategically deploys — literally — Jana Gana Mana, Saare Jahan Se Achcha and the Tricolour will end. But for a while, The Ghazi Attack shows us glimpses of a crisis-at-sea film it could have been.

However, there are too many Pakistanis to slay, and too many torpedoes to fire, to care for niceties. In all, eight-odd are fired, two-odd hit. What happened to the other six? Who is counting?

3.) Rating:4/5. Review by Devrashi Gosh on India Today

The Ghazi Attack belongs entirely to Kay Kay Menon and Atul Kulkarni. Rana Daggubati is an expressionless blank slate and the one thing he does well is to growl with a scowl, which indeed works once his character gets control of the submarine and becomes its de facto Captain. Taapsee Pannu has a screen-time of a little more than five minutes and basically, hangs around, for diversity. Rahul Singh plays Razzak, the villainous Pakistani captain of Ghazi, and he does a cartoon-ish Prakash Raj, sadly. Are Indian audiences not mature enough to comprehend nuance in our villains? Why do they have to be Mojo Jojo, Pakistanis or not?

4.) Rating: 4/5. Review by Prasanna D Zore on Rediff.com

Nevertheless, if you love watching a war movie, that too about a mission that is mired under the weight of being ‘classified’ and under the sea, the truth about which can surface only exploring the depth of the sea bed, then The Ghazi Attack is a must watch the film.

5.) Rating: 4/5. Review by  Gautaman Bhaskaran on Hindustan Times

Really, an engaging piece of cinema. But what was Taapsee Pannu – as an East Pakistani refugee rescued by Varma from the high seas — doing in the movie? Totally wasted after her performance in Pink. The rather poor dubbing is another minus point. But on the whole Ghazi is gripping.

6.) Rating: 3/5. Review on Koimoi

The Ghazi Attack is interesting enough as a story untold. It could be your pick if you have liking for war films. The Ghazi Attack has a riveting story and good performances from its lead cast. It lacks perfection in terms of its visual appeal.

7.) Rating: 3.5/5. Review by Sangeetha Devi Dundoo on The Hindu

Ghazi stays true to its genre, not giving in to mainstream commercial elements. That itself is commendable, considering we get very few of that kind in Telugu cinema. For a couple of minutes, you’ll see Rana indulge in something heroic when he goes looking for survivors of a wrecked ship, which Menon scoffs at. But even that is neatly worked into the plot.
