According to a leading journalist from CNN New 18, IT officials have come knocking on the doors of Baahubali producers. Yes, there has been an income tax raid, the search is on at four places. As per reports on ABP herald, raids have taken place in their offices, private properties and houses. Producers Shobu Yarlagadda and Prasad Devineni were the victims of this raid. The report further stated, that IT officials were tipped off that these producers possessed unaccounted cash. While the identity remains unknown, a source from ABP Herald revealed that it was a leading distributor that asked the official to conduct this raid. Everyone in the Telugu industry is shocked over this incident. Turns out before initiating the raids, a close tab was kept on them. This is the first raid after PM Modi passed the act of banning Rs 500, 1000 rupee notes.
3 days ago, PM Narendra Modi passed the law of Banning Rs 500, 1000 rupee notes and coming out with new 500, 2000 rupee notes. The main intention behind this act was to curb black money circulation and corruption right at its core. This act was lauded by Bollywood, tollywood celebrities alike. Right from Shah Rukh Khan, Rajinikanth, Karan Johar, Amitabh Bachchan, everyone praised the PM for his gutsy, clever move. Here’s what a trade analyst had to say Bollywoodlife ” “Every move that is so ballsy and out-of-the-box is going to be criticised or loved in equal measure until and unless you start seeing actual results for it. Obviously Mr Modi is a very enterprising PM and he understands what and why he is doing such a thing, so we will see how it goes, how it pans out..”
alking of Tax raids and new reforms, this is not the first film that has had surprise raids. In fact last year, in a surprising turn of events, raids were conducted on Vijay’s home and office, as well as on the houses of directors and producers while he was shooting for puli. The fact that Puli was a big budget had caught the IT official’s attention. “There were formal and anonymous complaints of black money behind the production of Puli. We have no such evidences so far but a preliminary probe reveals that some of the investments and sources behind the movie were not explained,” revealed an official to a leading portal.
