It’s been quite some time since I wrote a long blog post chock full of yummy Bullet Journal pictures, so I thought it was time to give you a Bullet Journal Update!

If you’ve been following along over on Instagram and YouTube, then you know that I switched back into a bound journal after a brief two-week stint with my beloved Filofax Bullet Journal.

Although I adored my Turquoise A5 Domino, I struggled to get used to the ring binder system. The allure of separate sections and movable pages is what drew me to Filofax, but unfortunately, those benefits did not outweigh the cons for me.

I don’t know about you, but sometimes I just want to sit/lay on the couch and catch up on some Netflix with my trusty Bullet Journal open on my lap. I couldn’t really do that with my Filofax, and I soon noticed that I was using my Bullet Journal less and less because of it.

After two weeks of having to take a page out every time I wanted to write, I decided to go back to what was more comfortable to me – a bound journal.

Specifically, the Official Bullet Journal Notebook. As soon as I saw that they were available in my favorite Leuchtturm1917 color (Emerald), I snatched one up and got to work.

Today, I’m going to give you a page by page peek into how my new Bullet Journal is shaping up so far. Are you ready? Let’s do it!

My first order of business with my new Bullet Journal was to add a little decor to the cover. I used one of the mandala stickers from my Etsy shop and colored it in with Tombow Dual Brush Pens.

After that is was on to the inside! One of the things that I LOVE about the Official Bullet Journal Notebook is the built-in key in the front. In addition to the pre-set signifiers, there is room to create your own. I decided to use that space to create a new color code for my new journal.

Previously, I was using a very bright, almost neon color code, and I knew that with this journal I wanted to go with a more muted pastel palette.

Since I started this notebook at the end of the year, I thought it would be useful to have a year-at-a-glance calendar for 2017. Instead of drawing one out, I decided to go the easy route and use one of the stickers from my shop here as well.

Ah… the dreaded first mistake! It was bound to happen sooner or later. In this case, it was sooner. I totally forgot to index the month of December, so I had to go back in and do some adjusting :)

I set up my Calendex on the very first spread. This time, I decided to go with an 8-month view. The Calendex is a hybrid between and calendar and an index, hence the name. Invented by Eddy Hope, the Calendex has quickly become my favorite method for future planning in my Bullet Journal.

My Level 10 Life spread got a bit of an overhaul this time around. Instead of ten categories, I condensed it down into eight and drew the graph as a square instead of a circle. You can read more about my Level 10 Life right here… oh, and here!

Even though I started this journal in the middle of November, I decided to keep the full month spread so that I could still see the entire month at a glance. I’ve been sticking with the traditional monthly log and task list for quite some time now and I love the simplicity of it.

For my daily pages, I switched up the time tracker bar. I used to do one single line at the top of each day. This time, I decided to do a double line with the morning hours on top and afternoons on the bottom. You can see my new color code in action here.

(Those colored squares are appointments or events that I scheduled and then entered in my Calendex)

Here’s my half-month Tracker & Gratitude Log for November. Since I had some extra space, I decided to letter a quote that I felt was fitting since I had just started over in a new notebook.

Up next is my Thanksgiving menu plan and a quick and simple Christmas gift log. I’ve edited out the gifts just in case anyone is sneaking a peek ;)

My first weekly spread in my new notebook! I started experimenting with this self-care tracker, and I absolutely love it! For each category, I rank myself on a scale of 1-10 for the day. It’s great to see how the different elements affect each other through the week. Just one more way for me to be more intentional on a weekly basis.

On the left, you can see the checklist I created to help keep me on track before my big shop update back in November. I like creating little breakdowns of bigger projects like this one. Taking things one small step at a time helps to alleviate that feeling of overwhelm when tackling daunting tasks.

I decided to revisit my gratitude sunshine here. Writing down some things that I was grateful for and then spending some zen time coloring it in was great!

Hello, December! As you can see, I’m spending more time traveling this month than being at home. This has made for an interesting month work-wise, but a very rewarding one for the traveler in me :)

My time log for the month of December is a bit chaotic, but I absolutely love it! I’m definitely looking forward to going back to some shorter work days soon! On the right, I used one of my Boho Berry Paperie tracker stickers. There’s a lot of blank space on it this month, but I’m very happy with what I have accomplished so far this month.

One of my absolute favorite spreads this month is my Gratitude Log. I decided to switch things up and leave a blank two-page spread to fill in as the month went along. Taking the time to contemplate what I’m grateful for and then relax with a bit of doodling and coloring is one of my favorite parts of my planning routine.

My second favorite spread this month is my Mood Mandala inspired by the amazing Fiona (@bujo.mama on Instagram). I drew a series of concentric circles (31 in total – one for each day of the month), and created a color code. Each day, I color in one ring based on what mood I’m in, and then I draw a Mandala on top as I go along.

Psst! >> If you’re a Boho Berry Tribe member, be sure to check out the Tribe Resource Library! I created a printable of the mandala skeleton to save you some time if you decide to create your own.

Also, if you want to learn how to draw a mandala, you can check out my tutorial on YouTube right here :)

Yet another weekly spread! Notice how I fell off from using my self-care tracker that week. I was in San Diego attending the Best Year Ever Blueprint, so I didn’t get a whole lot of Bullet Journaling in while I was there.

After Wednesday, I didn’t use my Bullet Journal at all for anything except note taking until it was time to come back home.

If you’d like to see a re-cap of the event, you can check it out here. I’m warning you, it’s a long one but SO worth the watch!

On the right, you can see a quick and messy brainstorm I did while trying to come up with an itinerary for our trip to Bali in January.

Once I got back home, I created a spread to commemorate my trip to San Diego.

I edited out some of the details in the above spread, but wanted to leave it as intact as possible to show you how I plan for upcoming travel.

This spread is a work in progress. If you’ve ever been to Bali, I’d love to hear suggestions for good places to go ;)

And that brings us to my current week’s spread! As you can see, I’m hitting the road again! We’re off to spend the holidays with friends and family in St. Louis, and I can’t wait to enjoy some much needed time off :)

This “Quotes to Letter” collection is fun! I often come across quotes that I think would lend themselves to handlettering. Then, when it comes time for me to sit down and practice, I’ve forgotten them all! Bullet Journal to the rescue :)

These are some notes I was taking along with a bit of brainstorming for the handwriting course that I’m cooking up. Hint hint ;)

Hello, 2017! I was sitting down to think about what I wanted my word of the year to be, when this page just came pouring out of me. Last year, my word was “Energy”, and I feel that I definitely lived up to it!

I still haven’t decided on a word for 2017, but I’m in love with this page nonetheless. Honestly, I want to say YES to each and every one of these words!

PS – this page is available as a printable in the Tribe Resource Library too!

I’m patiently (ok, not-so-patiently) waiting for Lisa Jacobs to release her annual “New Year for a New You” series on her blog! While waiting, I decided to do a little bit of reflection on 2016. On the left, I wrote down events and accomplishments, and on the right, I asked myself some review questions to get the ball rolling on my annual review.

Up next, I decided to to a bit of goal setting. I divided the page into quarters and began setting some goals for each quarter. As you can see, I haven’t made it into Q3 and Q4 yet, but I’m getting there!

On the right-hand side of the page, I started listing out specific action steps that I’ll need to take in Q1 to meet my goals. As each new quarter begins, I’ll create a new “Action Steps” page.

That’s it! You made it!

I hope you enjoyed getting a page-by-page peek into my Bullet Journal! If you’d like a more in-depth look at each spread, you can check out the video below. I’ll be back with at least one more post for you before our trip to Bali in January, so stay tuned!
