**Job Description:**Sourcing Group Manager – Implementation (Instruments/Reagents) is responsible for driving the implementation of the applicable tactics under sourcing strategies impacting assigned sites, functions or regions. Implementation activities may be related to products or services that are in-line or emanating from sourcing strategies and any associated GPDS programs. The associate has direct accountability for establishing and maintaining relationships within the assigned sites, functions or regions, ensuring alignment of priorities and needs regarding implementation activities. The associate provides leadership and coordination to get projects prioritized, resourced, approved and implemented at the site or within the function or region. Coordinates and communicates with Strategic Sourcing Group Managers and / or Regional Procurement Leaders regarding implementation needs and status for all categories impacting the assigned sites or regions. Sourcing Group Manager – Implementation (Instruments/Reagents) is responsible for the selection, development and evaluation of a team of sourcing associates.
This associate has direct accountability for the customer relationship mangement of a business, function or region, engaged at the appropriate level within the assigned, business, region or function. Ensures alignment of procurement and customer goals, and consequently plays a key role in influencing significant business decisions and resource planning. Responsible for speaking on behalf of the the procurement function regarding all relevant categories and functional initiatives.
**Impact on Results:** Sourcing Group Manager – Implementation (Instruments/Reagents) is responsible for successful project planning and execution of implementation activities. Accountable to Procurement Leadership for implementation program management and forward-looking pipeline. Team member performance, development and retention are additional areas of responsibility for this role.
**Financial Impact:** Performance is measured against successful delivery against agreed portfolio of projects of the team as well as proficiency in developing and maintaining relationships with the assigned sites or regions.
**Quality Impact:** Seeks continuous improvement opportunities for the implementation process.
**Cost Impact**: Responsible for the overall management of a portfolio of implementation projects. Improves BD''s financial position through ability to execute and deliver cost savings, non-price value opportunities and risk mitigation. Where GPDS projects are in the portfolio, contributes to BD''s abilities to grow the top line through innovation.
**Budget Responsibility:** Influences the site(s) or regional budgets through successful completion of projects emanating from sourcing strategies.
**Scope of Responsibility:**Provides functional leadership and support to team members, and champions the utilization of the implementation aspects of the BD strategic sourcing process to plan and implement sourcing strategies for assigned sites or regions. Areas of support and guidance for the team include project management, stakeholder engagement and communication as well as development and retention. Insures robust program management of implementation activities and communication and approval by key stakeholders and Procurement Leadership. Identifies common themes across multiple implementation projects and aligns overall implementation planning with the needs of the assigned sites or regions Manages and influences a broad network of touch points within the BD organization to drive implementation within the assigned sites, businesses or regions. Works in close alignment with Strategic Sourcing Group Managers, sharing information as needed to provide a two-way communication venue between categories and assigned sites or regions. Provides leadership and coordination to get projects prioritized, resourced, approved and implemented at the site or within the region. Supports communication and project plans to ensure effective delivery of change management initiatives against the implementation program plan.
**Sphere of Influence:**Executes responsibilities with a large degree of autonomy requiring minimal day-to-day oversight by immediate supervisor. Responsible for the selection, development and evaluation of a team of implementors based at the site or region. Implementors may be category team members, non-category sourcing leaders or GPDS procurement leaders.
Sourcing Leadership Team, Site Leadership Team, Functional Leadership Team or Regional Leadership Team. Extended Global Procurement Leadership Team. Business and site operations leaders, site leaders, function leaders, R&D;, Product Development; Financial, Quality and Regulatory associates. Key suppliers within the assigned sites or regions
**The Sourcing Group Manager - Implementation must demonstrate competencies in the following areas:**
* A strategic sourcing process, with a history of process utilization with specific focus on implementation

**Experience:**
* A minimum of seven to ten years of procurement experience required, with at least five years of sourcing experience preferred
**Education:**
* A bachelor’s degree is required.
* Preferred fields include Supply Chain, Business, Engineering or Economics
