As our Controls Technician you'll ensure that Manufacturing teams have the support necessary to transform raw materials into finished product. You'll be responsible for leading small projects and for providing technical support for large complex projects led by Controls Designers and or Controls Specialist. You'll provide manufacturing technical support to maintain, repair and/or replace equipment, as well as, modify existing production equipment to improve both reliability and functionality. A requirement for this position is a demonstrated ability to create and modify minor electrical control systems for industrial equipment. This includes PLC, HMI, vision and robotic software modifications.

Project Planning and Execution – With guidance from the Controls Designer and Controls Specialist will support Manufacturing issues, projects and or improvement plans for areas of responsibility including but not limited to: efficiency improvements, cost reduction or quality improvement programs, new product support and other process improvements.

Technical Writing / Documentation – Must possess excellent technical writing ability.

Validation – With the assistance of the QE, Controls Designer, Controls Specialist and validation team will support in creating all necessary documentation associated with the BD change control process and execute validation or verification activities to ensure project or process improvement plan is on time.

Manufacturing Support – Provides technical support as needed to manufacturing processes and projects. Use of good decision making, problem solving and trouble-shooting techniques will be needed to minimize the potential or correct ongoing manufacturing issues. You may be required to work in a specific department for an extended period of time. You may be required to support off shift maintenance issues if they arise. You must be able to clearly communicate with associates of all levels including managers, engineers, machine operators, quality technicians, line supervisors, and maintenance technicians.

Associates degree in Electrical, Electrical Mechanical, or other manufacturing related degree required.
5-7 additional years directly related work experience may be considered in lieu of the degree.
3-5 years’ of experience in Controls within a high-volume manufacturing production environment.
Experience in programming PLCs, HMIs, vision and robots required.
Experience with Allen Bradley and Siemens control systems a plus.

Experience with and working knowledge of RS Logix 5000 and SLC 500.

Experience with and working knowledge of RS Networks.

Must be able to troubleshoot servo motion control issues.
Must become proficient in writing small PLC programs and versed in programming various operator interfaces.

Experience in troubleshooting industrial machinery, which requires strong knowledge in both electrical and mechanical systems is a must.
Possess a detailed and methodical approach to problem solving.

Possess a can do attitude and a high level of motivation.
Ability to work with associates of all levels including managers, engineers, machine operators, quality technicians, line supervisors, and maintenance technicians.
Must have the ability to speak, read and write English.

Bi-Lingual in Spanish is preferred but not required.

Must have some experience in AutoCAD Electrical and be able to read and red-line electrical schematics

Must have the ability to drive small projects with little to no supervision, ensure timelines are met and within budget.

Ensure compliance with BD quality systems, policies, procedures and practices and all local, state, federal and BD safety regulations, policies and procedures.

Travel may be required local and international.
