The Clinical Consultant is a resource for the execution of the Medical Surgical Systems value-added clinical business strategy. The role implements clinical programs and initiatives that differentiate Medical Surgical Systems’ product portfolio based on improved clinical outcomes and process enhancements which may result in a lower cost-in-use. The expertise and credentials of the Clinical Consultant enhances the credibility of recommendations to customers and strengthens Medical Surgical System customer service and support. This support to customers is achieved through recommending best practice, conversion management and facilitating education and training. The Clinical Consultant actively engages in conversion management of all Medical Surgical System products with specific focus on PhaSeal and Nexiva. The Clinical Consultant reports directly to a Clinical Manager.

As directed by the Clinical Manager, the Clinical Consultant role will be focused on, but not exclusively limited to, the activities outlined below:
* Manages their responsibilities within the allotted T&E expense budget
* Provides updates monthly to the Clinical Manager on regional training activities and support provided in region (CE courses, Signature Solutions Assessments, Gap analysis audits, etc.) per activities delineated as a part of their compensation plan. The Clinical Consultant variable compensation plan is activity based
* Conducts customer training classes in support of retention for key customers
* Participates in the development of tools for the advancement of the clinical skills of the selling organization (ie: Clinical Newsletter.
* Conducts regional training classes for contractual nursing support in order to minimize the cost of travel
* Manages the On-call Specialist (OCS) schedule to include coordination of team meetings for consistency of message and briefing of issues
* Works in concert with the regional sales team to ensure the conversion management process is effective throughout the timeline of validation to retention
* Supports the regional team in conversion management strategy sessions
* Provides clinical support training for regional team members as needed
* Shares best practices with the Platform, PhaSeal Specialists, Sales Consultants, Sales Associates, RBMs, SAMs, Pharmacy Solutions Directors of Sales and their counterparts as they continue to enhance MSS programs and processes
* Provides training activities that help increase the clinical acumen for new hires as well as tenured Sales Consultants
* Assists in building a strong regional bench of contract nurses members which will help to limit travel costs
* Has responsibility for the regional team of iTI OCS in providing the highest level of training to our customers
* Trains and mentors OCS/SWAT to consistently help build their clinical acumen, while identifying high potential nurses within this group to be considered for the role of Clinical Consultant
* Works primarily in a geographically defined territory; however, based on account clinical needs could be used outside that territory.
* Travels 80% (required) to meet the expectations of the position and serve our customer's needs.

Qualifications:

Job Requirement:
* Registered Nurse with a Bachelor’s degree (BSN is preferred)
* Good relationship development skills
* Strong communicator with effective verbal and written skills
* Proven training skills to conduct Continuing Education courses
* Persuasive and credible; able to influence without authority
* Deals well with ambiguity
* Possesses strong understanding and knowledge of Infusion therapy
* Provides sales and customer product support for existing and prospective customers
* Collaborates with customers and internal staff to develop clinical materials as needed
* Assists with training and orientation of new staff
* Travels as needed to conduct initial and ongoing training to maintain accounts in designated territory and as assigned
* Performs wipe studies as assigned following company policy and procedure
* Communicates by telephone, e-mail and on-site with existing customer base for education, training and to maintain relationships
* Collaborates with Platform through the Clinical Manager to develop and revise marketing materials
* Interacts with customer committees as requested (i.e. product, safety, infection control, policy committees)
* Participates in trade shows to promote the company’s product lines
* Networks and participates in local, state and national chapter affiliations (i.e. INS,ONS)
* Reports complaints regarding the company’s products and service per BD’s company policy
* Works in a safety-conscious manner ensuring that safe work practices are utilized
* Complies with company policies and procedures
* Adheres to policy on drug-free workplace
* Maintains confidential information including proprietary information.
* Must be able to travel up to 80% (domestic).

Qualifications and Competencies:
* Maintains license as a Registered nurse in good standing with the Board of Nursing
* CRNI National certification recommended
* Works well on teams

* Participates in clinical organizations, regionally and nationally
* Demonstrates problem solving and decision making ability
* Understands at least a basic level of oncology and use of hazardous drugs across the health care setting
