Program Overview:
BD’s Information Technology (IT) Summer Intern Program is designed to attract highly talented undergraduate and graduate students who want to acquire practical work experience relevant to IT. By working on key projects or processes, while adding value to BD as an intern, you can expect projects that are both challenging and rewarding. You will work under the management of a BD associate who serves as your coach to aid and assist in your transition into the corporate environment. As part of the broader BD Intern Program, IT Interns can participate in various networking events, career development sessions and team building activities.

Summer Interns who demonstrate solid performance and exhibit promising potential at BD will be considered as candidates for BD’s Information Technology Leadership Program (ITLP) upon successful completion of their Bachelors program.

Previous examples of Internship opportunities include:
Infrastructure – Collaboration
• Created training documentation and facilitated the pilot phase of a global email consolidation and upgrade project
Global Information Security
• Researched training vendors and gathered requirements from key stakeholders in order to provide a recommendation for security training
SAP Business Warehouse
• Developed tools and education material for Regional SAP Business Intelligence Adminstrators to enable self-diagnosis of query reporting errors
Infrastructure – Operations
• Designed the framework and facilitated the initial implementation of Service Level Agreements for the infrastructure services provided by the IT organization
Qualifications:

Eligible candidates for BD’s Summer IT Internship must meet the requirements below.
• Completion of Junior year towards a Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Management Information Systems, Information Technology or Related Major. Business or other related majors may be applicable. - OR – Pursuing Masters degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Management Information Systems, Information Technology or Related. Business or other related majors may be applicable.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0
• Interest in a broad based cross functional IT experience
• Proven organization and time management skills
• Excellent MS Office skills
• Programming and database fundamentals
• Prior proven Intern or Co-op experience in an IT field desirable
• Demonstrate leadership ability with strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to quickly adapt to new professional collaborative environments, deal with ambiguity, build trust, accept personal responsibility, take initiative, and achieve results
