Title: DEMAND & INVENTORY PLANNING MANAGER

Reporting to the Supply Chain director and member of the European Supply Chain management team, this position is responsible for overall demand and supply management for PS in Europe. This position works closely with Global Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Marketing, and Sales to achieve targeted European service performance levels.

Position is accountable for supervising the creation of short and long-term supply and capacity plans to support Europe demand and inventory requirements. This role will ensure alignment with Europe business strategies while being accountable for global service, inventory levels, and increased collaboration with customers on Planning and inventory strategies. The Demand and Inventory Planning Manager is responsible for identifying, communicating, resolving or escalating significant supply performance problems (i.e. schedule unfeasibility, capacity shortages, quality impacts on supply, etc…) to Supply Chain leadership. She/he is also supporting the region’s global forecast accuracy performance through integration with the Sales’ demand organization, and continuous process improvement.

In addition to functional management responsibilities, this position will lead the Demand and Supply components of the Sales and Operations Planning process, manage ERP implementation activities for his/her area of responsibility, and provide leadership to supply chain integration projects with key selected customers as well as drive continuous improvement within the Demand & Inventory planning group.I. Main Responsibilities
Demand Management
1. Develop processes and organization that allows supply chain to have a sound understanding of the customers’ demand through close collaboration with Sales, Marketing and other customer facing teams
2. Active role in the Demand Consensus forum to deliver increasing business/market intelligence to the Region
3. Active collaboration to the SOF exercise in the region in coordination with regional marketing
4. Active contribution to the overall forecast accuracy performance and ensures adequate linkage to key account management as well as drive appropriate continuous improvement efforts to improve forecast accuracy performance
5. Develop and drive statistical forecasting to complement other source of information (market, customers)

Supply and Inventory Management
1. Accountable for supply and inventory planning processes, converting unconstrained demand into feasible supply plans in collaboration with WW Supply Chain and the Plants
2. Partners with Global planning to optimize assets utilization, while maximizing service & inventory baring costs with the aim of delivering against the Service Level, BO and inventory targets
3. Help define and communicate strategic and tactical direction, priorities and risks to key stakeholders. Identify, solve or escalate significant supply performance problems/challenges
4. Maintain alignment of inventory levels to achieve targeted service levels and backorder
5. Drive team efforts to the back-order optimization in Europe to reach back-order targets
6. Develop, implement and maintain forward looking global inventory strategy in support of the business strategy
7. Direct the periodic review and disposition of slow moving and unproductive inventories (Excess inventory)
8. Ensure Planning and Inventory strategies are maintained in line business goals, are communicated to sales and customers (where relevant)
9. Foster customer alignment to BD’s Planning and Inventory strategies
10. Ensure planned inventories are accurate and communicated to the warehouse manager for warehouse capacity planning (12 months rolling)
11. Ensure data consistency in ERP system at Distribution center (DC) level, from customer demand to replenishment requirements for the Europe region

Supply-Chain integration with key customers
1. Drive the Inventory Planning team to acts as the main point of contact for Supply Chain related discussions with selected key customers (tbd) with the aim of building longer term partnership through improved reliability, quicker resolution of supply issues and a more flexible supply chain
2. Support the Inventory management team in the management of Joint Planning:
a. Coordination of demand, supply and performance information for selected customers
b. Running of the Joint planning sessions with customers and follow-up of action plan
3. Identify and coordinate opportunities of increased supply chain integration with key customers (such as Collaborative Planning, VMI, Consignment etc…) and continuous improvement initiatives driving increased value to both customers and BD
4. Ensure the team defines, builds and secures Business Continuity plans for selected key customers

Everest / ERP responsibilities
1. Responsible for planning and managing ERP implementation activities as related to the Demand and Inventory Planning work-streams for Europe Supply Chain
2. WW Responsibility over the global Demand Management tool / BPC deployment (identify requirements, design with Everest team appropriate solution, identify gaps and drive change requests, Data loads, drive execution of tests and training activities in coordination with other sites and the SAP consultants available to the project, etc…)
3. Drive the adoption and deployment of SCM / ERP Planning in the Europe Inventory Planning team

Management responsibilities
1. Organize the team management to develop a positive work environment that foster engagement and high performance levels
2. As applicable, carries out human resource management responsibilities such as hires, job assignments, terminations, transfers, promotions, salary actions, and performance reviews
3. Responsible for development, training and motivating employees
4. Develop and maintain metrics to track performance and business contribution including Enterprise metrics: Inventory Turns, Line Fill, Backorder and Forecast Accuracy

Qualifications:

· 7 years experience in Supply Chain planning, Demand management, or equivalent in a B-to-B environment
· Action oriented and Customer focused
· Effective customer interaction skills with demonstrated proficiency
· Demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to influence for positive business outcomes
· Ability to operate in a fast paced, changing environment
· Strong analytical and problem solving skills
· People management experience
· Team player

· Fluent in English, another European language would be a plus
· Practical knowledge of ERP systems. SAP R/3 and SCM are a plus.
· APICS certification is a plus.
