1.0 JOB SUMMARY
1.1 The Training Coordinator provides primary support and leadership for Training. The Training Coordinator is responsible for creating an over arching vision for the training function, leading the development and execution of a strategic plan to effectively realize the vision, as well as the identification and development of training plans to meet the technical skill sets required by specific associate groups including, but not limited to Setups, Production Mechanical Techs, Electrical Mechanical Techs, and Molding personnel. The Training Coordinator works to identify and eliminate barriers that prevent associates from performing their job efficiently, develops training materials designed for adult learners, identifies and communicates process capabilities, and creates a structure to support knowledge transfer for new and newly assigned associates. Additionally, the Training Coordinator leads the identification of training and support strategies to build bench strength among exempt associates. The Training Coordinator holds a lead role in the administration and support of the Plateau learning management system (C2C) as the Local Process Coordinator (LPC) and provides supervision of Associate Trainers.
2.0 ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
2.1 The essential functions of this position include but are not limited to:
2.1.1 Ability to train adults through the effective application of adult learning theories.
2.1.2 Technical knowledge and skills associated with production equipment, along with the ability to effectively transfer technical knowledge and skill sets.
2.1.3 With the input of key stakeholders, supports and leads the establishment of training systems direction.
2.1.4 May be asked to represent the training function in various capacities, which make include cross- site teams.
2.1.5 Effective oral and written communication skills.
2.1.6 Supervises and provides developmental opportunities for Associate Trainers.
2.1.7 Serves as a liaison between functional areas and Associate Trainers.
2.1.8 Strong problem solving skills.
2.1.9 Strong computer skills, including user/trainer comfort level with various software programs.
2.1.10 Provides leadership for the administration of the Plateau learning management system (C2C), as well as support for the CAPA system.
2.1.11 Gathers and compiles technical, procedural, and process-related information into training materials utilizing adult leaning methodology to facilitate knowledge transfer with new and newly assigned associates.
2.1.12 Capable of compiling information into comprehensive training documents.
2.1.13 Creates audit processes intended to measure the transfer of knowledge and key learnings into the workplace.
2.1.14 Identifies and assists with the removal of barriers that prevent associates from performing their jobs in the most safe and efficient manner possible. Additionally, works with associates and management to identify and eliminate safety hazards.
2.1.15 Works closely with the Coordinators, line Set Ups, Facilitators/Supervisors, and Department Managers to ensure training and process needs are being met across all shifts. Furthermore, interacts with supervision, engineers, and technicians, as new and/or re-tooled equipment is being considered and/or installed.
2.1.16 Assists with the New Associate orientation.
2.1.17 Utilizes and trains others on BD specific applications including, but not limited to, C2C, SAP, Apriso/Dashboard, Employee Self Service (ESS), euHReka Work Space (EWS), Taleo, and the HR Portal.
2.1.18 Supplies various reports as requested by individual departments or as needed by external sources, in addition to providing analysis of training goals and trends for the Broken Bow facility.
2.1.19 Supports interplant training efforts such as BDU, Continuous Improvement Skills training, Lean, technical training in support of associate development in identified areas, etc.
2.1.20 Works with local Leadership Team to identify training and support strategies among exempt associates.
3.0 SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENTAL PERFORMANCE STANDARDS

3.1 Supervisors

3.1.1 Ensure new employees review and understand their Job Safety Analysis.
3.1.2 Review on-the-job safety with employees during performance reviews.
3.1.3 Update department Job Safety Analyses when a job process changes.
3.1.4 Work with the Employee Safety and Environmental Committee to schedule department safety audits, review and respond to audit issues.
3.1.5 Participate in Plant Safety and Environmental meetings.
3.1.6 Establish and report on annual safety and environmental goals as set out in Standards of Performance. Goals to be specific, measurable, trackable, and include as many parameters as possible.
3.2 Provide and maintain a safe and healthful place to work:
3.2.1 Know the actual conditions of the operating equipment and environment.
3.2.3 Be constantly alert to observe and correct unsafe conditions and practices.
3.2.4 Predict and forestall the possibility of an accident, and correct the condition that led to the prediction.
3.2.5 Investigate reports of unsafe conditions and correct the cause. 3.2.6 Know what, where, when, and why personal protective equipment should be worn.
3.2.6 Follow up. In addition to issuing work orders, project requests, etc., check the progress frequently until results are obtained.
3.2.7 Maintain good housekeeping.
3.3 Provide and maintain a safe process to follow:
3.3.1 Know the process and the "why" of it.
3.3.2 Know the properties and hazards of the materials involved.
3.3.3 Be alert to improve the present processes from the safety standpoint based on knowledge of the materials and methods involved.
3.3.4 Evaluate new and existing processes from a safety standpoint.
3.3.5 Encourage suggestions for improved job methods, but stress that approval must be obtained before any changes are tried.
3.3.6 Prevent "shortcuts" by being certain that employees know the job hazards and the corrective measure for each.

4.0 OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
4.1 Other responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:
4.1.1 Helps to ensure compliance with local, state, federal and BD safety regulations, policies/procedures.
4.1.2 Assists with plant tours for visitors and new associate orientation.
4.1.3 Performs other job related duties as assigned.
4.1.4 Observes all safety, environmental, and quality system standards.

1.1 Working Conditions
1.1.1 The predominant home-shift” for the Training Coordinator will be listed on first shift; however, the Training Coordinator will be responsible for training and development related efforts on all shifts.
1.1.2 The Training Coordinator must be capable of working a flexible schedule to satisfy the training needs of 24/7 manufacturing schedules.
1.1.3 Working hours will be dictated by business need.
1.1.4 Office/Plant environment, typically having protection from outside weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.
1.1.5 Although the Company has worked hard to address known hazards, the Training Coordinator’s job responsibilities will place him/her in the proximity of moving parts, electrical current, heat, chemicals, broken glass, compressed air and oils. MSDS and Job Safety Analysis information is available for all exposures and will actually be used by this individual as training aids.
1.2 Supervision
1.2.1 The Training Coordinator reports directly to the Continual Quality Improvement Leader in the Quality Assurance Department, or designee, responsible for Training.

Qualifications:

1.0 EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED
1.1 Education
1.1.1 B.S./B.A. Degree or Associate’s degree and 5 years of job or production related experience. 1-2 years experience as an Associate Trainer and/or related training experience is preferred.
1.2 Experience
1.2.1 Proven computer literacy’s and developed oral and written communication skills.
1.2.2 Experience in teaching, developing training materials, and training adults is preferred.
1.2.3 Broad-based operating knowledge of the Broken Bow Plant, with specific knowledge and expertise in processes, equipment and policies or protocol within the production areas.
1.3 Physical Requirements
1.3.1 The physical requirements of this position requires that the trainer be able to perform medium work (50 pounds occasionally, 25 pounds frequently, and 10 pounds constantly). Essential functions include both clerical and classroom type sedentary work and the ability to move out into production areas and conduct on-the-job training. Hourly associate positions within the plant include sedentary through heavy physical requirement categories. In the event the trainer is not able to perform heavy work, on-the-job training efforts for heavy work” positions will include gaining assistance from an experienced and formally trained incumbent operator.
1.3.2 Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time.
1.3.3 Significant levels of reading, key boarding, speaking/conversing, and/or writing.
1.3.4 Ability to perform the essential functions of jobs within assigned work area (refer to job descriptions of jobs within assigned work area for specific requirements).
