BD's Pharmaceutical Systems business unit, working in partnership with the pharmaceutical industry, develops an array of drug delivery systems that are critical to the integrity and delivery of medicine. We are currently seeking a Senior Engineer who will provide advanced engineering skill, lead assigned product development activities, collaborate in the evaluation and assessment of competitive products, processes and new trends, set his/her priorities and contribute to team planning. In addition, this person will maintain an overview of relevant technologies and products, ensure compliance with BD quality policies, procedures, and practices through appropriate communication, training, and education of sound quality assurance principles as well as ensure compliance with all local, state, federal, and BD safety regulations, policies, and procedures.
Job Duties include:
Provide advanced engineering skill.
Lead assigned product development activities. Set priorities for self and contribute to team planning.
Collaborate in the evaluation and assessment of competitive products, processes or new trends.
Maintain an overview of relevant technologies and products.
Ensure compliance with BD quality policies, procedures, and practices through appropriate communication, training, and education of sound quality assurance principles.
Ensure compliance with all local, state, federal, and BD safety regulations, policies, and procedure.
Project Responsibilities:
Product development: Plan, implement, monitor and deliver designated tasks and deliverables. Responsible for solving technical problems. Accountable for success of assigned tasks and deliverables. Participate in periodic design reviews of projects.
Budgeting: Participate in developing project budget.
Technology transfer: Participate in implementation of transition from research to development to manufacturing.
Process effectiveness: Ensure appropriate processes are followed for effective and timely engagement of related parties in completion of designated project activities.
Innovation: Develop creative and novel solutions to technical problems.
Customer focus: Develop understanding of customer needs and processes to ensure relevant and innovative product development solutions.
Continuous learning: Actively seek training to improve skills. Ensure technical lessons are reviewed, learned, and disseminated. Actively teach and promote learning.

Qualifications:
Education: BS 5 years and/or MS degree 3 years of experience in engineering preferably in the pharmaceutical and/or medical device industry.
Strong technical skills.
Prefer experience with plastic design and injection molding

Prefer proficiency in Pro-E or Sold Works
