As part of the facilities maintenance group, responsibilities include troubleshooting, making repairs and/or modifications to existing equipment, and implementation and debugging of new equipment. Additional responsibilities include engineering support for process improvement, efficiency improvement, and procedural improvements, and other tasks as assigned.
Performs mechanical, pneumatic and electrical maintenance (including preventive) repairs, adjustments, inspection and monitoring of production and/or facilities related equipment and machinery. Uses independent judgment to analyze, troubleshoot and repair complex equipment and machinery. Works independently with minimal supervision. Prioritizes own work schedule. Reads and interprets blueprints, schematics, technical manuals, diagrams, and equipment specifications. May provide guidance and/or delegate workflow to less experienced technicians. May be responsible for preventive maintenance scheduling. Effectively works in a team setting, supporting team goals and objectives. Make effectively decisions relative to position requirements. Also responsible for preventive maintenance scheduling. Leads installation and removal of equipment, inspects work of other less experienced technicians, and leads performance of required corrective maintenance.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
* Troubleshoots and solves technical problems pertaining to machinery, equipment, and processes.
* Provides support and assists facilities maintenance personnel as needed to facilitate effective accurate timely repairs to equipment and machinery.
* Locates and determines electrical malfunctions using test instruments. Repairs malfunctions by methods such as replacing fuses, replacing wiring or other hardware, replacing motors, contactors, controls, etc.
* Installs or repairs fixtures, motors, controls, breakers, transformers, switches, alarm systems, etc.
* Inspects circuits and wiring for defects, and repairs or rewires system according to safety codes and regulations. Troubleshoots, debugs, repairs electric power distribution equipment (ie. switchgear).
* Installs, repairs, and maintains facilities systems such as security cameras, intercoms, lighting, radios, computer wiring, fire alarms, building automation, etc.
* Troubleshoots, debugs, repairs automated facilities equipment such as air compressors, air dryers, air handlers, chillers, motor drives, powered doors, etc.
* Supplies and maintains drawing files for machinery, equipment, process, and facility. Provides written or graphical technical support for the Facilities department.
* Works closely with Facilities Engineering, and coordinates with Engineering and Maintenance and Machine Shop supervision to optimize opportunities for repairs, maintenance, and implementation of changes or improvements.
* Assists other departments' technicians and outside vendors' technicians as needed.
* Assists other maintenance personnel with mechanical and electrical repairs to equipment and/or preventive maintenance, as needed.
* Observes all safety and environmental procedures.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

* Performs any other duties as directed by the maintenance supervisor or maintenance Lead person or Facilities Engineering.
* Supplies and maintains drawing files for machinery, equipment, process, and facility.
* Provides written or graphical technical documentation for the Facilities department. Prepares instructions or sequence of operation for facilities systems and equipment.
* Participates in design, specifications, selections, installations, and commissioning of new or modified equipment to improve facilities processes, performance, and reliability.
* Generates and provides technical information for preparing capital budgets, expense budgets, and project budgets.
* Prepares standards for Preventive Maintenance, Modifications, ECOs, and prepares proper documentation for validations.
* Coordinates and oversees Contractor personnel to accomplish repairs or installations of equipment and systems.
* Drives forklift, scissor lift, highjacker, automobile, etc. when necessary to accomplish stated job functions. Utilizes hand tools and portable power tools when necessary to accomplish stated job functions.

Qualifications:

* Minimum of 2 years A/C or refrigeration maintenance experience.
* Vocational/Technical School exposure in air conditioning maintenance, preferred.
* EPA Universal Certification, required.
* Must be able to communicate (verbal and written) to internal customers external contractors and vendors.
* Requires a high degree of technical skill and experience in working with wide variety of equipment and technical systems. Requires a good working knowledge of mechanical, electro-mechanical, and electronic equipment and the ability to recognize, define, and correct equipment deficiencies. Also requires the ability to collaborate with various other support groups (ie. Facilities Engineering, Machine Shop, etc.) to implement installation and improvement
* Knowledge of current technology in a wide variety of disciplines with familiarity in electronic controls, relay controls, HVAC controls, drives, etc.
* Knowledge of air conditioning systems, water chiller systems, cooling towers, fans and ventilation systems, and the ability to read schematics, part drawings, and pneumatic schematics
