Responsible for supervising Production personnel and maintaining production methods, processes and operations for new and existing products within a GMP and ISO compliant production facility. Acts as an advisor to subordinates, and becomes actively involved as required to meet schedules and resolve issues. Functions cohesively with other supervisors in the area. Recognizes production improvement opportunities and works with a project team to implement changes. These projects can result in cost reduction and/or quality enhancement to current manufacturing methods. Works on projects of moderate scope where analysis of situation or data requires review of identifiable factors. Exercises judgement within defined procedures and policies to determine appropriate action.

* Provides general supervision to production associates with responsibilities for costs, methods and employees results for defined area of responsibility
* Establishes and delegates operation objectives and assignments for all shifts
* Facilitates communication between associates and management as delegated
* Supports and maintains Lean Daily Management System through daily shift start up meetings and updating production, quality and safety metrics
* Responsible for oversight of associate training and development as well as motivating supervised associates
* Provides guidance and training to associates in technical skill, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), ISO Standards, and adherence to all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as required
* Keeps management abreast of developments that may contribute to personnel issues, industrial accidents or other conditions effecting operations
* Communicates regularly and provides coaching on performance against predetermined goals and objectives for all associates directly reporting to him/her; responsible for the executing the annual performance management activities
* Ensures that cleaning, maintenance and calibration of equipment and production areas (including office areas) takes place according to schedule
* Ensures adequate resources are deployed in the most cost effective and efficient manner
* Administers company policies and procedures that effect immediate operations; recommends appropriate changes to operating unit policies
* Identifies and implements changes as needed by updating processes that support cost reduction and/or quality enhancements via change orders; provides coaching and training to encourage change adoption by production personnel
* Updates production documentation (Manufacturing Specifications, Production Records, Work Instructions, Desk Procedures) as needed to remain current with changes to materials, facilities and processes (both technical and business)
* Carries out human resource management responsibilities such as hires, job assignments, disciplinary actions, transfers, promotions, salary actions and performance reviews on time. May be required to handle challenging personnel issues
* Implements the division’s affirmative action plan as it applies to the function supervised; monitors conduct and relationships among employees supervised to prevent discriminatory acts or comments
* Complies with US and non-US regulations effecting own area of supervision/management; communicates need for compliance to member of own functional area; brings regulatory compliance questions/issues to the attention of the next level of management and directly to Regulatory Compliance
* Considers safety in all aspects of the work environment; involves associates in reducing injuries, and fosters a working environment that promotes open communication regarding safety; ensures EH&S; policies and procedures are followed through coaching, education and training; leads discussions regarding safety at shift start up meeting and documents the information on PVD boards; participates in EH&S; programs; implements scheduled departmental safety inspections and ensure corrective action for identified hazards
* Performs other related duties and assignments as required

#### REQUIREMENTS

* AS/AA in related scientific or business discipline
* Excellent leadership skills including at least 2 years supervisory experience
* Effective knowledge of and experience with GMP and ISO standards
* Excellent written and oral communication
* Effective technical problem solving skills
* Effective presentation and meeting skills
* Demonstrated ability to promote teamwork and motivate non-exempt employees
* Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
