Field Service Representative, British Columbia
BD Biosciences (referred to as €œBDB €) is a world leader in bringing innovative, cell analysis diagnostic and research tools to life scientists, clinical researchers, laboratory professionals, and clinicians who are involved in basic research, drug discovery and development, biopharmaceutical production and disease management. BDB serves a broad range of customers: research and clinical laboratories, academic and government institutions, pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, hospitals and blood banks. BDB technologies are used across several areas of scientific research, with a primary focus on Immunology, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology and Cell Signaling. Within clinical markets, BDB technology is used in Oncology (Leukemia & Lymphoma), HIV/AIDS and Transfusion/Transplantation. In addition, BDB has a growing presence in Genomics, Stem Cell Research and Marine/Agricultural applications. While BDB €™s primary portfolio options are flow cytometer technologies (i.e., instruments, consumables/reagents, accessories), BDB also maintains ancillary revenue streams for Services, primarily technical, application, and educational services, all of which are strongly linked to the instrument.

D E S C R I P T I O N

JOB SUMMARY:
The Field Service Representative is responsible for providing on-site support to BD customers that includes, but is not limited to installation, corrective maintenance, preventative maintenance, and relocation/removal of flow cytometry instrumentation; after hour phone support, holiday and weekend on-site and phone support, as well as support of Marketing initiatives, exhibitions, and clinical trials.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Use critical thinking to identify root cause and resolve instrument issues, with minimal direct supervision, while abiding by current guidelines and standards.

- Focus on improving customer satisfaction in all interactions.

- Complete technical service bulletins on assigned instruments, as per BD guidelines and timelines.

- Properly maintain car stock inventory, test equipment, tools, and technical data.

- Complete service documentation, as required, by the position function or as requested.

- Display maturity and judgment in time management and expense control.

- Report quality control and other technical problems, in detail, to the appropriate support centre and Manager.
