The Senior Staff Software Engineer is a technical leadership position leading the software development for product advancements in the medication safety space for multi-generational plans. The individual would have responsibility for working cross-functionally to understand end-user needs and requirements and mapping them to software design requirements with software design staff and own executing the implementation of the designs that meet these requirements on time, with quality. In addition, the individual would also own directing the software test team to develop detailed and robust software test protocols and manage the software test execution in alignment with business and program needs.

The responsibilities can include, but are not limited to: defining a software development plan in alignment with program and business teams, coordinating software design team in designing critical features and functions, managing the software development lifecycle, including all documentation and process deliverables, leading software change review board, facilitating the execution of software implementation using Agile/Scrum methodologies, coordinating with other R&D teams (hardware, embedded software and systems) to ensure product-level requirements are met and overseeing design qualification via unit, functional and workflow testing.

Typically the Senior Staff Software Engineer will coordinate and lead the effort of a team of developers and interface with other teams for product integration and present quantitative and rigorous project updates. In addition, the individual will interface both internally and externally to understand the clinical use cases, usability and software requirements.

**Minimum Qualifications:**

+ Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or Applied Math.

+ A minimum of 12 years of post-educational professional experience in the HCIT Domain, with at least 5 years of project leadership experience.

+ Hands on experience developing applications in C#, C++, .Net in conjunction with Object Oriented Design methodology is required

+ Experience working with Microsoft SQL Server with emphasis on database code development.

+ Experience in building software products used by business operations and/or delivered to customers as web-application products or other hosted solutions

+ Knowledge of networking, TCP/IP protocols, DHCP and Active directory

+ Experience with HL7 interface development and IHE standards

+ Ability to generate technical documentation for design capture

+ Working knowledge of applicable standards for medical devices: FDA QSR, ISO 13485, ISO 14971, IEC 62304.

+ Experience with Agile Scrum methodologies.

+ Experience participating in technical symposia and conferences

+ Champions work as needed to introduce new best practices

**Desired Qualifications:**

+ MS in Computer Science/Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or Applied Math.

+ 15+ years of professional experience.

+ Previous experience leading large, global software development efforts in the Healthcare IT space.

+ Understanding of medical devices, clinical/technical workflow, user, systems and unmet needs

+ Experience defining emerging software technology with business needs and translating into strategy and tactics

+ Experience with leading different software development domains and keeping in planned alignment.

+ Experience working in a large, multi-site, global matrix organization

+ Experience leading design reviews to identify, manage and influence resources to mitigate risks

+ Experience recruiting and assembling diverse leaders to drive decisions and actions
