GENERAL FUNCTION

# Team Operator will be responsible and perform the following:

1\.Process steel tubing through annealing ovens, draw blocks, sinks, straightening and auto\-cut operations to reduce tube gauge size \(I\.D\. and O\.D\.\) and cut to length\.

2\.Know manufacturing specifications of equipment, process and quality requirements of tubing, which includes close and accurate tolerances\.

3\.Perform material loading, feeding and unloading of product n all process machines\.

4\.Inspect and remove defective product, dies, plugs, cutters, etc\.

5\.Maintain product quality, equipment performance and production performance\.

6\.Make process equipment adjustments, monitor repairs and service as required so that continuous work patterns and operations are maintained\.

7\.Notify set\-up, technician, etc\. when necessary to maintain product quality and equipment performance\.

8\.Clean up area, equipment, etc\. as required\.

9\.Maintain accurate production, waste, labor, quality, etc\. records\.

10\.Operate machines safely\.

11\.Use proper tools, methods, and techniques\.

## WORK DUTIES

1\.Operate different steel tubing equipment/processes at any and various times for one or ore product items\.

2\.Operate as a team member to process steel tubing for size reduction for maximum effectiveness \(quality, productivity, performance, etc\.\)\.

3\.Perform quality checks and inspections on product, tools, equipment, etc\. to maintain quality product\.

4\.Operator to move material from machine and process to another for maximum productivity\.

5\.Operator to make product change overs and set\-ups\.

6\.Work with team members to achieve efficiency, waste, schedule compliance, expense spending, and safety targets\.

7\.Attend and actively participate in team meetings\.

8\.Actively participate in selection of own team members\.

9\.Demonstrate the following skills:Leadership, good communication skills, initiative, innovativeness, job motivation, behavioral flexibility, and good judgement\.These skills will help to identify improvement opportunities and take on the challenge of resolution\.

## GENERAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

1\.START

A\.Supplies Check and obtain adequate supplies for tubing size reduction from annealing

through auto\-cut\.

B\.Equipment

1\.Check all equipment for proper set\-up and adjust/replace items as needed\.

2\.Continually monitor operations for product quality and equipment performance\.

C\.Load/Unload

1\.Position tube material to be processed\.

2\.Feed the tubing through machines, including annealing ovens, die boxes, swaggers, straighteners, etc\. using mandrels, dies swaggers, lubricants and associated equipment\.

3\.Remove material from tubing machines and re\-position on next process machine or aside\.Aside cut cannula into totes\. \(May require manual lifting, using hand lifts, hoists, etc\.\)

4\.Restart machine when breaks occur, including unjamming and reloading\.

D\.Assists Operator to notify set\-up, technician, etc\. when needed for major adjustments or

repairs\.

2\.Operation

A\.Transfer \-

1\.Use manual lifting, hand lifts, hoists, etc\. to load, unload, and transfer material between work areas or from machine to machine\.

2\.Load/unload and inspect product at workstations per Q\.C\. specifications to keep system

operating effectively and efficiently, maintaining quality and production performance\.

3\.Maintain workflow patter so that equipment operates a maximum amount of time\.

4\.Weigh material and cut cannula and record information after each operation for production reporting purposes\.

B\.Quality Control \-

1\.Take product samples per QC specifications\.

2\.Prepare product samples and inspect per QC specifications\.

3\.Clean, check and inspect dies, plugs, etc\. per specifications and operating procedures\.

4\.Inspect and measure tubing/cut cannula periodically per specifications\.

5\.Use microscope to inspect product for scratches, etc\., per specifications\.

6\.Use correct Go\-No\-Go wires to check I\.D\. size and for crimped ends per specifications\.

7\.Check the cut length of the cannula to assure OAL \(Overall Length\) is within product specification\.

8\.Use microscope, calipers, wire gauges or other test equipment to perform QC requirements\.

C\.Service \-

1\.Load/unload tube material as required\.

2\.Straighten tubing as necessary for proper feeding\.

3\.Keep material on process equipment to maintain continuous operation\.This is to achieve proper machine sequencing and flow patterns for minimum in\-process material, maximum throughput and maximum performance\.

4\.Change and maintain lubricant dies, plugs, cutters, etc\. at each operation\.

5\.Inspect dies, plugs, cutters, etc\. for damage, size, etc\. and set aside for repair\.

6\.Prepare product for next operation in process\. \(Fastening, labeling, positioning, etc\.\)

7\.Clear/Clean any tubing breaks/jams in equipment making practice and use of OSHA/plant required lockout procedures and use of proper and/or required tools\.

8\.Clean up equipment, machines, tools, work area, etc\. as scheduled or necessary\.

D\.Adjustments \-

1\.Make necessary machine adjustments and set\-ups to maintain continuous product quality

and process performance\.

2\.Continuously and periodically inspect/monitor equipment and process for non\-performance\.

3\.Notify set\-up, technician, etc\. when major adjustments or repairs to equipment; mechanical

and electrical systems are necessary\.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1\.Reports to product line coordinator\.Able to work effectively in a team and with limited direction\.

2\.Authority to instruct misbehaving associates to correct misbehavior\.Discipline, if necessary, would be left to the larger work team and/or management\.

3\.Executes additional duties as required by the team\.

4\.Must comply with protective clothing, safety and management policies\.

5\.Must be familiar with specifications and documentation associated with operations of this position\.The operations of this position may specify use of chemicals\.In such cases, completion of periodic Resource Conservation and Recovery Act and Right\-To\-Know training will be required for these chemicals\.
