**What Commercial Operations contributes to BD**
The mission of the CoE is to enable commercial strategy and drive profitable sales growth by shifting our mindset to being more “front office”, by exceeding customer needs and improving customer experience in the areas of contracting, sales operations, business analytics and operational excellence\.
This will be accomplished by standardizing, automating and integrating \(CoE approach\) as one company, driving data integrity and remaining agile to the evolving needs of customers and BD’s Go\-to\-Market corporate and BU strategies\.

**Accountabilities in this role**
Reporting to the Director, Commercial Contract Operations, the **Senior Manager, Contracts Operations** is accountable for leading a team that manages functions within Contract Operations Org such as chargeback/rebate accounts receivable reconciliation activities, error management, including research and resolution of distributor chargeback customer data misalignments and ongoing data quality and efficiency improvement within the Commercial Contract Operations CoE\. This will be successfully accomplished through people leadership, utilization of automation technologies and best practice contract/chargeback operations and associated policies, ensuring that the US Commercial Operations strategy is implemented\.
Engaging and collaborating closely with leaders of our Channel Partner \(Distributor\) base, Commercial Contracting Operations, BDX Business Unit Finance leaders NASSC \(North American Shared Service Center\) Finance leaders, Channel Management Organization and Commercial Customers, this position will drive best in class, innovative, enterprise operational capabilities and also establish policy, and process to ensure the effective implementation of distributor chargeback activities and overall financial risk\.

+ Additionally, the Sales Operations team within the US Commercial Operations COE will have a dotted line to this position
**Essential Responsibilities:**
+ Oversee chargeback operations for all financial aspects of the chargeback process including the resolution of chargeback disputes and other financial related activities
+ Oversee the Accounts Receivable reconciliation of chargeback related items in order to support an accurate AR while positively impacting DSO for the company
+ Relationship management with Finance leaders across the businesses to support and resolve chargeback related issues that emerge from chargeback submissions/processing that impact financial reserves and sales compensation
+ Exercise appropriate financial controls to minimize disputed chargeback exposures and rebate reserves across all businesses
+ Oversee the maintenance of end customer master data to research & resolve data misalignments with our distributor partners, determine/implement data quality improvement opportunities and the maintenance of non\-transactional customer accounts in SAP
+ Maintain distributor “partner cross referencing” to ensure data alignment
+ Act as the US Commercial Operations site lead for San Antonio to ensure ongoing communications of Comm Ops strategic objectives in order to promote collaboration and unity
+ Manage and implement databases that support the chargeback dispute resolution process
+ Monitor and execute all SOX and internal control procedures to ensure policy compliance
+ Work closely with resources in the NASSC to continuously identify new technologies and processes which will benefit Commercial Contracting and Commercial Operations overall\. Take a lead role to adopt process and efficiency initiatives and reinforce the need for change for long term sustainability
+ Collaborate with leaders across our distributor partners to initiate business process continuous improvement activities, conduct root cause analysis, determine error prevention solutions, and operational requirements to enhance the distributor experience for long term success and meet customer/market needs and dynamics
+ Collaborate with the Distributor Chargeback Operations Senior Manager to ensure the effective execution of policies and procedures are managed across all distributor chargeback operations
+ Actively participate with industry organizations such as HIDA which to focus on creating industry leading best practice effectiveness and efficiency across medical device manufacturers and distributors as it relates to the chargeback processes
+ Lead, implement, support, and drive continuous process/system improvement initiatives across the Distributor Chargeback Operations teams while leading and promoting business process integration across Contract Operations
+ Ensure that all chargeback related training material is maintained and updated, including desktop procedures in order to actively support and train the super user network
+ Develop metrics, KPI’s \(key performance indicators\) and SLA’s \(service level agreements\) in order to hold the team accountable for achieving the key strategic goals of the organization
+ Inspire and empower the team to act with speed, agility and accountability enabling them to achieve excellence
+ Provide guidance and coaching to your management and staff to attract, develop, and retain talent
**Qualifications**
+ BA/BS required, Finance preferred; MBA desirable
+ 7\+ years’ experience in distributor operations management with a concentration in finance activities\. Healthcare industry strongly preferred\.
+ Advanced working knowledge with Microsoft Access and Excel required\.
+ Accounts Receivable, chargeback processing, dispute resolution and distributor relationship engagement experience strongly preferred
+ Experience with SAP, Vistex, Model N or a similar system is strongly preferred
+ 5\+ years’ experience in leading teams, strong understanding of business process/operations and strong relationships with Finance, General Management, Channel Management, Compliance, Legal and Sales Executive Leadership
+ General understanding of commercial contract operations management
+ Experience in negotiating complex, strategic agreements and operational requirements with distributors
+ Understand emerging healthcare industry trends and assess their potential impact on distributor operations strategies and execution
+ Proven ability to quickly establish credibility, trust, and support within all levels of organization\.
+ Ability to partner with Sales Leaders, Channel Management and Finance to operationalize chargeback administration and drive best in class efficiency, timeliness and accuracy
+ Analytical problem solver with business acumen\. Able to evaluate key business drivers and develop clear strategic recommendations
