Key Account Manager BD Advanced Bioprocessing (UK & Denmark)
Role:
You are responsible for developing key account relationships throughout the company’s customer base in the UK & Denmark, which includes a targeted group of Biopharmaceutical companies, Contract Manufacturers (CMO’s) and Biotech companies.

Working in close collaboration with the existing European team, responsibilities will include global strategy implementation through regional account managers, scientific application managers, and internal functional leaders. You will also have the potential to lead the coordination of one or more global key accounts.

The principal aim of the role will be to implement a sales & marketing strategy for the assigned sales area and key regional accounts in the biopharmaceutical market to ensure that all commercial objectives (net sales and gross profitability) relative to the BDAB product line are achieved. Consequently, the role will require frequent interaction with the R&D and Process Development teams of the company’s customer base.

You will report directly to the European Business Leader BDAB who is based at the European HQ of BD Biosciences in Erembodegem (Belgium).
Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement sales action plans for targeted biopharma accounts, prioritizing based on long term revenue and pipeline opportunity.

• Identify opportunities in assigned accounts by growing existing business, and implementing the new go to market strategy programs to build new streams of revenue and profitability. Report and monitor these opportunities in the ‘sales funnel’ through the use of a CRM tool.

• Participate at Biopharmaceutical congresses and workshops (1) to support the marketing of BDAB products & services, (2) to further develop market intelligence and (3) to generate new leads and opportunities.

• Collaborate with internal cross-functional stakeholders to drive Global Key Account opportunities, which may include developing sales action plans, making sound recommendations for investment direction and deployment of resources to support business goals.

• Work closely with the Scientific / Application manager and customer RA manager to increase awareness and capabilities of the Advanced Bioprocess business at strategic key accounts.

• Provide on a quarterly basis a 12-18 month rolling unit forecast for high volume and strategic products for his/her respective key accounts to the European Demand Planning team through the use of established business tools.

• Identify significant trends (e.g. buying behaviors, product & service needs) or macroeconomic issues of strategic importance impacting area performance; Provide feedback and recommendations to the Advanced Bioprocessing functional stakeholders and management.

• Develop a thorough knowledge of the market and build scientific and technical expertise of the fermentation and cell culture processes (USP, DSP).

Requirements:
• Experience in a similar high-level key account sales role in a Biotech company

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant life sciences industry, preferably cell biology or a related field in biology

• Scientific and technical knowledge of the biopharmaceutical R&D process

• Strong planning, organizational and interpersonal skills

• Well-developed project management & relationship building skills

• Stress resistant, flexible, dynamic and creative with a hands-on mentality

• Ability to work independently as well as a team player with the ability to influence without authority

• A passion and drive with a strong commitment to develop and sustain long term business partnerships

• Fluent in English; knowledge of other European languages is a plus

• Approx 25% time spent in Denmark
