The GPDS Service Project Manager is responsible for managing the activities of the Service Global Product Development System (GPDS) team exercising full responsibility for results in terms of methods, costs, resources and associates. Establishes and delegates operational objectives and assignments. Establishes policies which affect subordinates, as well as recommends changes to these policies as appropriate. Acts as an advisor to subordinates in order to prepare the worldwide Service organizations for the introduction of new products by way of documented service plan strategies for products in the portfolio pipeline.

Works on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors. Exercises judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Must possess the skills to identify and resolve systematic root cause issues.

#### Duties and Responsibilities

* Responsible for the timely development and implementation of comprehensive service strategies for products in the portfolio pipeline on a worldwide basis
* Ensures that Service Operations and the worldwide Service Organizations are working with the GPDS program teams to ensure that worldwide Service requirements are understood and implemented as appropriate
* Responsible for establishing criteria intended to measure the success of new product launches and uses this criteria to measure their success
* Completes new product post-mortem reports and presents to GPDS program teams and senior leadership
* Ensures that the appropriate analysis and subsequent actions occur in order to continuously improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the Service GPDS process
* Responsible for ensuring that the necessary process documentation for the Service GPDS process is developed and maintained
* Assigns the appropriate resources to GPDS program teams as appropriate
* Works with subordinates to develop detailed project plans that align with the GPDS program team timelines
* Develops expense budgets for Service new product introduction activities
* Carries out Human Resource management responsibilities such as hires, job assignments, termination recommendations, transfers, promotions, salary actions, and processes performance reviews on time
* Exercises responsibility for employee training, development, and motivating supervised employees
* Implements the Division’s Affirmative Action Plan as it applies to the function supervised; monitors conduct and relationships among the employees supervised to prevent discriminatory acts or comments
* Keeps abreast of the basic requirements for compliance in own area of work and complies with those requirements; participates as required in training on regulatory issues affecting own area of work; brings regulatory compliance questions/issues to the attention of management
* Promotes a safe work environment; may provide recommendations on maintaining the safety of the work environment; participates in Environmental, Health and Safety programs; addresses corrective actions whenever a hazard is identified; notifies supervisor of all observed hazardous conditions or unsafe work practices
* Performs other related duties and assignments as required

#### REQUIREMENTS

* BS/BA in an engineering or science discipline
* 5+ years Service experience
* Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
