The Service Specialist will work directly with management on the execution of planned services and projects including Installations, Upgrades, Relocations, Removals and Preventive Maintenance of diagnostic equipment\. This position will work closely in a team setting along with the customer ensuring superior customer service on product planned services, customer product training, transferring of knowledge, compliance, configuration management and connectivity\. This person must be able to obtain high level of complex instrumentation training while meeting both customer and project expectations\. This role ensures an effective turnkey solution for the customer to provide superior customer satisfaction from instrument introduction to fully utilized operation of equipment\.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

+ Efficiently works in a team setting to provide prompt, high quality on\-site support to BD customers\. This support includes installation management, pre\-install visits, instrument installations, customer technical training, Preventive Maintenance, instrument stabilization, connectivity, etc\.

+ Promotes a safe working environment and ensures compliance with applicable policies and procedures

+ Works with team to ensure compliance with all administrative responsibilities \(i\.e\. time sheets, expense reports, training, self\-development plans, etc\)

+ Establishes and cultivates internal and external relationships to enhance business performance and customer experiences

+ Drives change initiatives as required to improve efficiencies and execute on business commitments

+ Implements Installation Management processes to ensure the project is well\-organized and timely per the customer expectations

+ Adherence to Quality Policies and Departmental Standard Operation Procedures

+ Must adhere to all Safety compliance requirements \(internal/external\)

+ Delivers level of service that continuously surpasses customer expectations

+ Partners with Lab Automation Customer Experience Project Managers to assist in gaining customer business and loyalty

**Qualifications**

Knowledge and Skills

Demonstrated leadership, motivational and organizational skills with a proven track record of accomplishments in cross\-functional projects/teams/programs

Ability to work professionally with all levels of internal/external organizations\.

Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills; including effective internal and external communications and crisis/conflict resolution skills

Consistent professionalism in customer, cross\-team/functional interactions with high concern for customer needs and expectations

Willing and able to travel up to 75%

Must be able to lift up to 30lbs frequently and up to 70lbs infrequently

Must be able to handle bending and stooping over a prolong period of time \(up to 10 hours\)

Must be able to handle prolong standing \(up to 10 hours per day\)

Must be able to push/pull materials up to 100lbs

Must wear all PPE \(Personal Protective Equipment\) required by company guidelines

Education and Experience

Associate Degree in Electronics/Computers/Biomedical Engineering or equivalent technical or military training in electronics is required

Bachelor s Degree in Electronics/Computers/Biomedical Engineering is preferred

Three to five years of service experience in the troubleshooting and repair of electronic systems

Requires a good working knowledge of mechanics, pneumatics, electronics and electro\-mechanical devices

Continuous Improvement foundation \(i\.e\. Lean and Six Sigma\) is preferred

Working knowledge and experience of networking set up and troubleshooting
