Well, you may have seen that good old “Update WordPress” notice. And yes, 4.2 has been released, named “Powell” in honor of jazz pianist Bud Powell.
Normally I do my own review, but thought this time around I’ll just share the video from the source itself.
You may be asking me if I have updated yet. I did. Approximately 1 hour after it’s release. And yes, I did back everything up just in case. That is one of the reasons I loved WPEngine. I do a one-click backup and if things go sideways, I simply do a one-click restore. And I’m back in business.
But that didn’t happen this time.
In fact, I am currently running 48 plugins, and it went smooth as silk.
I’m not recommending you jump on it right this sec, but don’t wait too long. And remember, BACK UP FIRST!
