Superbot, the first party line up, even with a few of my favorites missing is great.  Better than I expected as I never thought we'd see characters like Sir Daniel, Nariko, and Spike.  It's the third party characters that I don't like.

As a long time Playstation fan, it's sad to see that we've still yet to have a third party character that isn't there solely for the purpose of advertising.  Does Bioshock Infinite have Big Daddy?  No, it doesn't, but it includes the original Bioshock and whenever you think of Bioshock, you think of Big Daddy.  There's also the fact that Bioshock was released on the 360 for over a year before it was ported to the PS3.  Are we going to get Commander Shephard from Mass Effect as one of the next third party characters?  Who cares that we didn't even receive the first game, right?  With Big Daddy making the list I don't think it's far from plausible.  Dante from the new Devil May Cry?  Really?  You're making it quite clear that this game is for adveritsing.  Raiden and Heihachi, but they're the versions from Revengence and Tekken Tag 2(Young Heihachi,) clearly representing that it's more advertising.

Are we going to even get a true third party classic, or is the rest just going to be more advertising for third party?  Honestly, you might as well have left the game first party only, because right now it's just disrespectful to not only the fanbase by adding characters that no one cares about, but also yourselves, Sony, as a company, by selling out and turning this game into what is also advertising space for new games.

Just some first party characters that could have been in the game instead.  Wanderer, which everyone constantly asks for.  Gabe Logan which Syphon Filter wasn't that good of a series until the PSP releases, but who doesn't want to see a throwback to the original where Gabe tasers someone until they turn on fire (even have it be done the same way, just keep hitting the button?)  Dart from Legend of Dragoon, a JRPG character with a nice character design, enough of a skillset in his own game to easily add him to Playstation All Stars, and level three could be his dragoon form.  Ashley Winchester from Wild ARMs 2, uses a bayonette with different type of cartridges to attack, his level one could be lock on, level two could be multiblast, and level three could be Knight Blazer.  Then Leonard on White Knight Chronicles 2 could be a jack of all trades melee character with mid/long range spear, mid/short range long sword and axes, and while he can't use a bow or elemental magic, maybe even add that in there too just to have him be like the avatar who could use everything.  His level three could be the White Knight.

But no.  None of this happened.  Let's just add characters that are advertising instead.

With the official announcement of Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy 13, it makes me think that we're going to see Lightning as one of the third party characters, and it's quite obvious the majority of the Final Fantasy fanbase hates Final Fantasy 13 and Lightning as a character.  But who cares, right?  Cloud isn't my favorite Final Fantasy character, but he's the most well known in the series and when you think of Playstation, you think of Cloud.  I'm getting the game day one because a friend wants the Vita copy, but if Final Fantasy is in the game, and Lightning or any Final Fantasy 13 character is chosen over arnyone else, then I'm cancelling my preorder and will pick it up once it hits clearance.  I'm not going to support bs like this.
