Norwegian Spirit I didn't want to leave!!! by AnnePontuso
As a combination 65th birthday present and the fact that my husband wrote "Political Science comes to Rick's" I decided that we should go to Casablanca and the Canary Islands. What really prompted me was an email I got with this itinerary at a great price for a balcony. Our air fare was actually almost as much as the cruise. Anyway, we had been on NCL before, sailing to the Baltics, Egypt, and the Mediterranean. Morocco seemed exotic and I was told the Canary Islands were amazing. We knew how to take a ship from Barcelona and knew the lay of the land on NCL ships having been on the Jade and the Jewel. The Spirit, however, is smaller. Continue reading... Westerdam What's not to love by SneezyRider
Keep in mind that all reviews are a matter of the reviewer's opinion. What was fantastic for one may be totally unacceptable for another. Given that please accept my opinion for whatever value it may have for you. For this cruise, we booked a Neptune Suite. That comes with many perks that may not be available to those who book a less expensive stateroom. Embarkation - VIP treatment due to booking the suite. We turned in an Avis rental car and boarded a waiting shuttle to the cruise port. We may have been lucky, but the shuttle was there when we checked our rental in. The shuttle dropped us in front of the cruise ship where our luggage was immediately taken by a waiting porter. We were through check-in and in our stateroom by 11:05 AM. All of our luggage was delivered to our stateroom by 2:00 PM which left us lots of time to explore the ship prior to sail-away. Continue reading... What's not to love
Carnival Imagination New and Improved Carnival Imagination by So Cal Cruise Mom
When the Carnival Elation left Long Beach last year to go to New Orleans, Carnival introduced the Carnival Imagination to the West Coast. The Fantasy class ship leaves the port of Los Angeles on Sundays with as many as 2056 passengers and 920 friendly crew members for a four night cruise with stops in Catalina Island and in Ensenada. When it returns on Thursdays, it docks back at Long Beach to refuel, restock, clean up and get ready to greet new passengers for a three night cruise to Ensenada and back to home port. During Spring Break my family and I sailed on a four night cruise. Checking into our room U 42 offered the ideal cabin for my daughter and I. Two twin beds in a “L” shape, writing desk, television, large window, plenty of closet space, bath with a large shower and safe in the closet. Continue reading... Celebrity Silhouette Truly Modern Luxury on Celebrity Sihouette by grftldave
My DW and I are in our mid 40's. We've been on 11 cruises (1 NCL, 1 Princess, 7 Royal Caribbean and 2 Celebrity). We flew from Chicago to Ft. Lauderdale the day before our cruise and stayed at the Hilton Marina. We've stayed here before and love the location. It is right near the port (we watched the parade of ships from the front of the hotel). While the hotel is a bit older, it is comfortable and is right on the waterway with tons of huge yachts docked on property. But this is about the Silhouette so I'll get right to it. Pride of America Pride of America, March 15-22, 2014. by VideoTech
Apologies in advance for the length of this review. I hadn't intended it to be so long, but the POA and Hawaii are a very different kind of cruise, and as I went on, I found there was a lot to say about both the ship, the crew, and the cruise. Hope you find it helpful if you're considering booking this cruise. Our group: Just the two of us, late middle aged (she's 50's, I'm 60), active, and we enjoy doing our own thing when we travel. We aren't big “joiners”, and don't generally do tours or excursions unless it's something we feel can be best done that way. We are long time NCL cruisers, and have been on about two-thirds of the ships in the fleet. Our preference is for the smaller ships, with the Pearl being our favorite. We've had cruise experience on other lines as well, principally Royal and Carnival. Continue reading... Pride of America, March 15-22, 2014.
