Ballpark proposals are, in my personal opinion, mind-numbingly lame. But a fake ballpark proposal to take advantage of a conveniently placed TV interview? That’s an opportunistic joke I can support.

During Friday’s Diamondbacks game against the Dodgers, a couple seated behind social media personality Lana Berry staged a proposal and tried to sell it with absurdly over-the-top acting.

Berry was being interviewed about the Diamondbacks’ Triple Play Sundae, which is the two-pound, 3,540-calorie monster of a sundae that we previously wrote about at FTW.

But here’s the proposal. Look at the couple behind Berry.

My first thought from the video: GOOD LORD, THAT SUNDAE IS HUGE.

My second thought: Nicely done by that couple. They exposed the ridiculousness of ballpark proposals in a very funny, original videobomb.

The best friendships are always the friendships that form around a 3,540-calorie sundae.
