Have you ever heard someone say that they’re distracted by all the shiny things? That is me in spades. #INEEDSPARKLE. I swear I’m listening or watching something and then I’ll see a sparkle… just a glimmer out of the corner of my eye … and all hope is lost. Not so much for me, but for the person trying to tell me something or for the task at hand.

Because of this I wanted to share my top four beauty items that have major sparkle but that are still awesome:

Glitter Nail Polish. Okay you can get this anywhere and from any brand imaginable, but some of my faves are the Zoya PixieDusts, OPI Designer Series and OPI Liquid Sands. There is just a major pick me up when I see sparkly nails, even just a sparkly accent nail.

Glitter Lips. This doesn’t necessarily mean that you need to have crusty glitter lips (like you may be imagining). At The Makeup Show this year we stopped at the Violet Voss booth and my step-sister got her lips done up with glitter. She called it surprisingly comfortable and it lasted on her for hours! Brands like Violent Lips also have temporary lip appliqués or you can go more demure and use my personal favorite, the Gloss Volupte from YSL.

Glitter Eyes. If you’re super into it glitter bomb your whole eye ball (use the Violet Voss that you used for your lips even!), but I personally love a glitter liner to accent a nude eye look. For that try Urban Decay Heavy Metal Glitter Liner over a flat black.

Highlighter/Shimmer Bronzer. This you have to be so careful with. When used correctly you can make your face sink and pop in all the right places, your decolletage too! Victoria’s Secret usually does a Summer one and a Holiday one that you just dust lightly all over your bod. If you’re feeling fancy Guerlain Meteorites offer a subtle pop of shimmer.

How do you sparkle?
