Nestled all cozy on South Granville is a divine boutique named Diane’s Lingerie. Its gorgeous interiors are complemented by delicate lingerie, comfy cover-up’s, relaxing evening wear, and an uber-knowledgeable sales staff.
We had the opportunity to get the details on this season’s most popular pieces with the boutique’s astute buyer, Angela, who shared with us all the great new looks for this Winter and the New Year.
What are this seasons trends in sleepwear and lingerie?
In sleepwear and lingerie, we have two distinct color trends. The first trend is rich, warm colors like chic dark blues and gorgeous deep reds. In lingerie, these beautiful colors are easy to wear under a fall wardrobe. They are a great alternative to basic black. The second trend is a fresh take on classic black and nude. In lingerie, bras have been updated with modern, graphic lace patterns in classic combinations of black and nude. Bras in classic black lace continue to be a staple for the fall season as well. The black and nude trend is also seen in sleepwear and loungewear collections.
The rich, warm colors of the Axelle bra and panty set by Marie Jo is a customer favorite. This season the set was done in a luxurious red floral print. The print is rich and full, a modern take on a romantic red bra and panty set. Leavers lace details adorn the bra and panty. The Axelle bra has these gorgeous features yet remains seamless. The bra can easily be worn under fall outfits.

The Gracious collection by PrimaDonna features a t-shirt bra that is available up to a G cup and a full cup bra that is available up to an I cup. The Gracious collection stays on trend in a blue noir colorway.

Dianes Lingerie Gets Comfy!

In loungewear, the trend is moving towards pieces that can be worn at home and outside of the home. A new collection at Dianes Lingerie is Ayrtight. Ayrtight is a collection of sophisticated, easy pieces that drape and flatter all customers. The pieces are easy and comfortable to wear and great for travelling. The collection is made in Canada.
In terms of sleepwear and loungewear, Fleur’t is on trend for the season in rich purple tones. The Fleur’t collection features a unique chemise. The Fleur’t chemise has gorgeous lace cups that provide lift and hold. Women love this feature. The body of the chemise is made of a soft, luxurious modal that is a dream to wear and sleep in.

How is this different from past years?
This season’s trends in lingerie and sleepwear are very sophisticated, feminine and modern. They focus on classic fits that are easy to wear and rich, warm colors and gorgeous, feminine prints that customers are excited to wear.
What new lines are now in store that are getting your holiday shoppers excited?
The lingerie collections mentioned above are getting holiday customers excited because they are collections shoppers are familiar with that have been recolored or redesigned for this season. Holiday shoppers have also been excited about the Pluto and Ayrtight loungewear collections. They love having an item that they can wear comfortably at home and if needed outside of the home. The Pluto and Ayrtight pieces are easy to wear and style.
A new collection that arrived this December is the Shan swim collection. Dianes Lingerie has recently expanded into swimwear and Shan is a collection our customers are loving. The collection is sophisticated, stylish and extremely flattering on every figure. The Shan collection is also designed and manufactured in Canada.

What specialty lines does Diane’s carry for the woman with unique circumstances?
Dianes Lingerie has a selection of recovery care products that are designed to make life easier for a woman both during her hospital stay and after, while she is healing. Woman who have had a mastectomy, lumpectomy or breast reconstruction need two things above all in their prosthetics and after surgery garments, comfort and choice. Dianes Lingerie has prosthetics, bras, including those with pockets to hold a breast form in place, and leisure garments that provide maximum comfort, choice and convenience.
This fall Dianes Lingerie launched a new sleepwear collection called Lusome. Lusome is the perfect balance between functionality and beauty. The Lusome collection is made of a special fabric that uses moisture management technology to help manage night sweats. Night sweats can be caused by various factors like cancer treatment, thyroid problems, or menopause. Lusome has been well received by woman as the collection is beautiful to wear while helping to solve a major concern.

What are your recommendations for a romantic evening at home?
I would recommend one of the bra and panty sets, like the Jaipur collection, the Axelle collection under an Ayrtight loungewear outfit. I love the feeling of wearing a matching bra and panty set. I believe every woman should own a special bra and panty set that she feels gorgeous and confident in.
