As the sport of MMA has seen a meteoric rise globally, lucky for the MMA community there has been a correlation between the plethora of promotions and the advances in technological aids on the market to keep up with such events. What with the major promotions such as UFC, Bellator, One FC and World Series of Fighting as well RFA, Cage Warriors and other smaller organizations the MMA world has never had such a vast landscape to enjoy.

MMA is now one of the most thriving sports on the planet, with the UFC alone now reported to be worth a reported $3.5 billion. It’s a far cry from the days when the promotion was on its knees pre-TUF 1 finale when the Bonnar/Griffin fight probably did more for MMA than any other standalone fight in the history of the sport. Something that’s also contributing to the increase in podcasts and apps being developed on a daily basis is that “there was an estimated 1 billion smartphone users at the end of 2012,” as reported by Gaming Realms, the company behind the gaming portal, PocketFruity. Thus, more a more consumers are being able to download apps and podcasts to stay in tune with their passions, much easier.

The MMA Hour – Canadian-born Ariel Helwani has made a name for himself as the most distinguishable journalist in MMA, today. Helwani also has a vast network of contacts and manages to book all the biggest names in the sport on his weekly MMA Hour show. This is a must listen.

MMA Junkie Radio – Everyday for a couple of hours, MMA Junkie journalists John Morgan and Gorgeous George present a show that revolves around their different guests that come on their show daily. It has received plaudits for its light-hearted take on the sport, and in Morgan you get to listen to one of the best hacks in the sport.

The Great Debate – Ex-MMA Fighting journalist, and now Bleacher Report writer, Damon Martin presents his weekly show that bring fans of the sport a varied range of guests and Martin’s opinions on the pressing topics in the world of MMA. Martin is renowned for being one of the most well respected journalists in MMA.
