The Role:
Bloomberg Mobile is seeking a technical product manager for our growing portfolio of mobile products for the consumer audience. The mobile technical product manager will be responsible for managing all technical aspects of the product development lifecycle from planning, technology assessment and definition, vendor evaluation, execution and on-going support. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in the mobile space leading mission critical mobile projects from start to finish for a consumer-oriented company.
Responsibilities include:
-Manage the product roadmap and day to day activities for the product
-Develop product requirements and detailed user story product specifications
-Identify and manage the technical details of the product including content creation, content delivery and data presentation to the user
-Work directly with the development team to manage the creation of new features to the product, direct sprint planning and technical tradeoffs
-Partner with key stakeholders (developers, sales, management, marketing, and editorial) to ensure the product fulfills it s objective
-Evaluate vendor solutions determining best in class services to exceed required product objectives
-Proactively manage resources to exceed expectations on success metrics
-Develop and manage project plans and roadmaps
-Manage prioritization and trade-offs among features, user experience, performance, and delivery timelines
-Proactively identify and resolve issues that may impair the team's ability to meet strategic, financial and technical goals
-Keep all the stakeholders well informed at all times

-Has utilized requirement management, bug tracking and project control tools (e.g. JIRA) to define and manage requirements within their project
-Direct ability to define mobile delivery technologies including JSON, XML and security controls.
-Willingness to roll up your sleeves and do whatever is necessary with a general manager /owner mentality
The successful candidate will be a self-starter able to work extremely effectively on multiple simultaneous products; communicate effectively to various groups with different levels of technical and mobile understanding; and adept at synthesizing a variety of technologies and capabilities into high quality and easy to use mobile products that users love.
Qualifications:
-7+ years work experience in related positions with increasing responsibility
-3+ years as a technical mobile product manager on successful projects for digital media products including iOS applications, Android Applications and/or Mobile Web, in a leading consumer media brand
-Have defined, managed or developed highly used applications from conception to delivery and support
-Ideally has actively developed products in the past including design and coding utilizing relevant development methodologies (Objective-C, C++, Java, etc).
-Excellent communication skills to various stakeholders including marketing and development
-Excellent project management skills and experience managing multiple simultaneous date driven projects
-Hands on knowledge of underlying technologies to power and provide content to mobile products
-Good understanding of customer-focused design and usability principles
-Results-oriented with strong verbal and written communication skills
-Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority
-Demonstrated track record in software architecture and experience working through the full software development lifecycle
-Highly motivated strategic thinker with strong technical background
-BA/BS required; M.B.A. is also preferred
