*The Role*
Cross Asset Portfolio Analytics is responsible for the development of a flagship product in Bloomberg called Multi Asset Risk System (MARS). MARS is a risk platform with distributed architecture that handles client's large portfolios for a variety of applications. It also serves as a single entry point for other teams in Bloomberg to obtain pricing analytics for all types of securities including interest rate derivatives, FX derivatives, commodities derivatives, equity derivatives , credit default swaps, corporate, government, municipal and convertible bonds, and mortgages.
Bloomberg is seeking a technical team leader for the MARS team to be involved in every aspect of product development and release cycle. The successful candidate will be an outstanding developer with outstanding team leadership skills.
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field (or equivalent expertise)
- Extensive C/C++ development experience, both Unix and Windows
- Extensive Experience designing highly distributed high-performance systems
- Strong understanding of data structures and algorithms and the object-orientated methodology
- Excellent knowledge of multi-threaded and network programming, including very low-level
- Excellent knowledge of lock-free algorithms; knowledge of low-latency optimization techniques
- Expert-level knowledge of UNIX internals
- Good software engineering habits
- Strong problem-solving abilities
- Extensive Experience in derivatives pricing (all assets)
- Extensive Experience working with large scale portfolio systems
- A very good understanding of RISK and RISK management (VaR, Market Risk, Credit risk etc)
- A good knowledge of recent market regulations concepts (EMIR, Dodd Frank)
- Leadership
- Extensive Experience leading a team of software developers and engineers, being both a technical lead and a manager
- Extensive Experience working with product managers, setting direction and creating a vision
- Extensive Experience in providing coaching for the team members
- Extensive Experience in evangelizing best practice and driving technical initiatives forward
