The Role:

Bloomberg Intelligence also offers valuable written analysis, industry data and interactive charting and functions from a team of independent experts, giving trading and investment professionals deep insight into where crucial industries stand today and where they may be heading next.
You would be part of this expanding team responsible for conducting analysis on a periodic and topical basis and authoring research on companies within the Financial Services sector, with a focus on banks, institutional brokerage, investment management, and wealth management. The analysis will be based on Bloomberg's data sets, Bloomberg Intelligence data and analysis, as well as company calls and announcements.
The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting investment research across the insurance industry on a periodic and topical basis, authoring and contributing to written reports as well as providing coverage of key events that drive the sector. The analysis will be based on Bloomberg's data sets, financial models as well as issuer calls and announcements.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Monitor and interpret major company developments and identify macro themes and trends affecting the insurance sector
- Work with Fundamentals & Economic Statistics teams to ensure data completeness and quality control for existing and new data sets of target companies
- Individuals will have significant data analysis responsibilities as part of their day to day activities
- Interact with clients via the online messaging system (ADSK)
- Review submitted research for adherence to global quality standards
- Develop and maintain relationships with internal departments and external market professionals
- Work closely with Industry senior analysts to coordinate analysis of companies
- Monitor and interpret major company developments and identify macro themes and trends affecting the industry.
Qualifications
- 2-5 years of equity research experience, preferably specializing in the Insurance sector
- Experience interpreting financial statements and performing quantitative financial analysis
- Knowledge of advanced concepts, practices, and procedures of finance and accounting.
- Solid experience interpreting financial statements and performing quantitative financial analysis
- Strong writing skills are essential
- Excellent oral communication and presentation skills
- Demonstrable research and analytical skills
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Strong organization skills and capable of handling multiple projects
- Commitment to enhancing and developing products
- CFA designation is preferred.
