This is sickening.
On July 2011, Anders Behring Breivik bombed government buildings in Oslo, killing eight people. He followed that by murdering another 69 people, consisting almost entirely of teenagers, on the island of Utøya. Unfortunately, because Breivik claimed to use Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 to “train’ for his murder of 77 innocent people, video games were invariably linked to the tragedy.
The mass murderer was sentenced to 21 years in prison — the maximum sentence in Norway — and now, just 18 months into his sentence and he’s demanding they give him better video games.
In a letter obtained by the Agence France-Presse, Breivik refers to himself as a human rights activist and says he’s being treated “worse than an animal.” Among his list of demands is a PlayStation 3, access to “adult” games, and a cozier chair.
“Other inmates have access to adult games while I only have the right to play less interesting kids games. One example is “Rayman Revolution”, a game aimed at three-year-olds.”
If his demands — 12 in total — aren’t met, Breivik threatens to go on a hunger strike.
“You’ve put me in hell … and I won’t manage to survive that long,” he wrote. “You are killing me.”
Officials are expected to respond to his complaint next week.
