In case you didn’t know already I am a girl who LOVES clothes and beauty products (understatement of the century)..and with that problematic addiction life entails an excessive amount of overpacking even for a one night stay in the same country ( don’t roll your eyes, it’s a serious problem…). I have faced many a comment or shock query in response to my baggage ‘You’ve packed THAT much?!’ ‘You know you’re only going for one night right?’, but I like to think of myself as that person who always has that plaster, tampon or whatever else you need in times of emergency.
Peter and I got on the coach for London at 9.30am which means that I obviously had to get up at 6.30 to make sure that my make-up was sweat proof, oil resitant and ridiculously matte (just so most of it could blow off in the wind…), I also wanted to make sure that my outfit was weather appropriate and comfy enough to walk and sit a lot in. Little did I know that this top was more suited to someone with a very light, snazzy, interchangeable strapless bra, but hey I liked my new floral trousers from Dorothy Perkins and hope you do too,
Plum floral joggers £24/Monako Halterneck £6.99/White Croc sandal £15
The day before I went to London I absolutely raided the shops as much as I possible could despite the damage done by the flooding from the rain, which was pretty devastating for local businesses. Dorothy Perkins was still open and ready for action, and I picked up these gorgeous joggers, they were full price but I managed to pick up some sale beauties too as they have really outdone themselves this season. The Chockers sandals are unfortunately out of stock but to be honest they cut and scarred my feet and are now in the bin haha! The halterneck is from Missguided’s sale and is luckily still in stock.
Before photobombing I packed up my travel essentials I nabbed from TK Maxx, and am pretty darn proud of them. I think they are also great travel essentials if you are yet to go on holiday so do check them out if you are worried about travelling with liquids or need a new bag :)
I picked up this amazing Paul Costelloe bag for £30 in a double reduction sale, with a RRP price of £250! It is available in taupe here for £70 and I am personally finding it difficult to resist.
I picked up this mini travel kit for £4.99 from instore and despite the dispensing efforts with a very mini funnel, it had little stickers that I could apply to the different shaped & sized pots and sprays, it was ideal for a night away.
Seeing as Pete was kind enough to drag himself shopping with me I decided that I would pick him up a few treats. He picked up a pair of espadrilles they he could wear and dispose of, but actually they turned out to be pretty long wearing and comfy, and they were only £10 in store. The headphones were only £15 and ideal for the long coach journey, and the shorts were a polka dot pair of Penguin knee length’s for £25 instead of £60.
Alongside the travel minis, a portable charger kit was a necessity. It was pretty pricey at the reduced price of £16.99 but we were desperate and wanted a quick solution to long journeys- it worked really well and was long lasting but it turned out National express had a plug socket!!
Let me know if you have picked up any Dorothy Perkins or TK Maxx bargains as I am a little obsessed with both at the moment!
