What a lovely event it was last weekend at St Michael’s Church in Chiswick. @loveMusic’, run by the Bown family – a talented local team of related musicians – and friends, had the second concert in the amazing surroundings of the church. Go here to see the Facebook Live video I did during rehearsals. We were fed some lovely food donated by the local deli, and given lots of tea and coffee (or wine) and then it was time to perform! Be still my beating heart – it was doing overtime!
Lorna Ko was there to see the first bit and to record it all for Chiswick Buzz. Here’s what they had to say on the local online magazine for W4 – click here. And here’s a sample of the singing, but look at the dodgy camerawork! Hehe!
All I can say is, well, mum is 73! Close your eyes and you won’t get seasick! Lol. Lara and Izzy my nieces were happy to be there and clapped very loudly, which was nice. Other performers including Peter Christie, a funny folk-style songster and lots of classical pieces from talented musicians. My fave was the theme from Schindler’s List on piano and violin – haunting and wonderfully played.
The concert was in aid of three local charities and it was a super evening. Go to my website’s blog section to read the full story and to also see the video from the one time I’ve sung on primetime television – all I can say is it really did look like Eartha Kitt even if it did sound like Sheena Easton! Lol. Click here. Also on my website is the Early Bird Order page – where I add any links that are too late for this blog with its Friday deadline – there are lots of today’s Special Values in the run up to Christmas which are being released early with Early Bird links so do keep visiting there for the latest, and if you like, don’t forget to subscribe to the newsletters as that’s where they usually go in between QVC blogs, or on my Facebook official page here.
So Ali Keenan and I were thinking about this topic, following the concert being over (thank goodness – I was very, very nervous!) And we’ve decided to do what so many people have mentioned and look into creating an album of songs. Her Colin knows all about how to do it, so fingers crossed – maybe sometime in the spring. For the concert, I sang ‘Someone Like You’ by Adele, ‘That Ole Devil Love’ and my favourite new one to my repertoire – ‘What a Difference a Day Makes.’ Which other songs would you like to see being put on to the album if we make one, for charity? Leave me a comment below if you can.

One year Later – did you Take a Chance? One year ago almost exactly, I was holding the very first copy of my very first novel to hit the bookshops – a signing in Harrods was the highlight, definitely. Hope another one will be released early next year – non-fiction and quite autobiographical… watch this space. Or watch this one, click here for more info about my writing.
And remember we sold the Kobo reading tablet? Here’s some more ideas for fab romance content for you, offer on till 28th – including my own novel with Choc Lit – get it now!’
#BehindTheScenes – Record breaking amount of models? The ‘IT’ girls were back in town this week and brought with them fifteen models – fifteen! They had to have their own rows of chairs put out behind the cameras! Great fun hour and I have to say, some super gift ideas…
Gift Focus If you don’t know what to get someone who loves makeup, look at this amazing brush set with built-in cosmetic bag – it’s a great idea and over £113 value in just brushes. IT are renowned for their brushes so give it a try. Remember everything bought as a gift now and opened on Christmas Day has an extended money back guarantee – till 25th January – super eh!
Gifts Under £50 – new regular show for me in December There will be a regular slot on a Monday with me through December, instead of the Back to You series this January (there will be no Back to You shows any more, the format has run its course – the gifts show will be great fun though.) And there will still be lots of health type products in January though, don’t worry – for instance Bruce is back with a new Bodyblade offer, mid-Jan, I’m told!) I think it’ll be 8 or 9pm each Monday night so do put it in your diary!
Pilgrim Midday Sunday with Craigy and Helen What a pretty range this is. If you want to get or give fabulous edgy jewellery do consider the Pilgrim collection, I had this necklace on this week, which you’ll see on Sunday’s midday show. Helen is great fun so I bet she and Craig will be a riot!
‘Watch’ out for their watches too – really loved the colours available on the sunray effect watch we did on my jewellery show on Monday – item 305076 if any left!
Tate Christmas Market Had a super time with my boy Brad and Kari after I stayed with them at the weekend (#nomad, staying with family whilst I’m up in London working, and not in Devon at new house near Retreats for You in Sheepwash!)
Had a mooch around, bought a pressie or two and nearly had a go on the merry-go-round! There was a woman selling tails, which I thought was wonderful and weird – look –
And we had a little look at an unusual ‘installation’ happening inside the cavernous interior of the Tate Modern too – this required people to lay on the ground looking at the ceiling whilst panels of white board raised and lowered creating different shadow effects! Relaxing music but a bit draughty, lol!
Cats on Twitter…This week Emily tweeted her cat loving watching QVC! Considering the videos doing the rounds at the moment, showing dogs jumping up and down watching the new John Lewis ad, this is timely!
Blooper – such a funny moment with Charlie when our talented director, Christian was feeling in mischievous mood and made it look like Charlie was talking to me via the big TV behind me in the No! no! promo – look what happened. Funny!
ITV news And if you missed my announcement last week on my website newsletter, an ITV show want to include ME as the ‘most accident prone presenter’ in a new episode of ‘When Live TV ~Goes Wrong’! Gawd! Will keep you informed!
Facebook Funny Clever wordplay and considering all our food we’ve been doing on QVC lately, a nice tie in! lol. If you’d like to see our range of pies, cakes, drink and treats, go here and look out for temporary offers and special pricing that may not make it to air. ~Also do watch the last few Andi Peters Food Fest shows on Mondays at 7pm with Dale
Watch ‘The Crown’ on Netflix is the one everyone’s talking about at the moment – a lot of people were discussing it backstage this week, so as soon as my feet hit the ground after my hectic November, I will have a self-indulgent binge watch session! It looks excellent and apparently the actress playing Princess Margaret is amazing too. If you’ve seen it, what do you think?
Comp winner – Well done to Pauline Colquhoun, the randomly selected winner of last week’s Elemis giveaway! Congratulations Pauline, the QVC team will be in contact with you for more details.

Here’s another fab post from my Till the Fat Lady Slims book’s support group on Facebook
Hilary says – ‘Good morning all, time I raised my head. The first thing to say is thank you all. I may not have been posting but I have been reading, and you are truly inspirational. I was doing so well, then life staged an intervention. I regained all I had lost and more. I didn’t so much as set up camp on the wayside as take up permanent residence. I contemplated leaving the group but something stopped me. Five weeks ago I pulled myself up by my boot straps and got back on programme. And that is down to you lovely people. I have many stones to lose but am finally feeling positive for, literally, the first time in 2016. So THANK YOU ALL’
Fabulous news isn’t it, from yet more ladies finding the support from TTFLS and Freedom Eating is really helping on their weight loss journey. I say to anyone who wants to give it a try, to read ‘Till the Fat Lady Slims 2.0 – the ‘When’ Diet’ book first, which is like the one which sold out in signed hardback on QVC last year. Plus book 3.0 with more tips and tales to inspire. The whole picture and links are here on my webpage.
