Longtime Lawrence politician Paul Davis closed out 2013 with barely more than $1 million going to his campaign coffers in his bid to make Sam Brownback a one-term Kansas governor.
Brownback has yet to file his 2013 report, although it's certain that he has raised more money than his challenger. A Brownback spokesman told The Topeka Capital-Journal that Brownback expects to fetch between $4 million and $6 million during this campaign.
Davis' contributions, not surprisingly, come largely from the few Kansas areas where Democrats exist in large numbers: Lawrence, Wichita, Johnson County and Kansas City, Kansas.
