Jan. 13 through Feb. 15 – “Ground Cover/Covering Ground,” an exhibition of installation drawings by Larry Cressman and an exhibition of works from the Ross Art Museum’s permanent collection. Cressman, a professor at the University of Michigan’s School of Art & Design, has spent years exploring drawing as a three-dimensional form of expression. His artwork often focuses on a “physical line and the inherent structural possibilities of the material paper.” Learn more at larrycressman.com. Ohio Wesleyan’s Richard M. 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Jan. 17 – This free, family-friendly event will include children’s activities; a Delaware expo including community service organizations, businesses, and restaurants; and OWU men’s and women’s basketball games.

11:30 a.m. Jan. 17 – The Bishop Backers expo opens in Gordon Field House, 105 S. Sandusky St., Delaware. Learn more about the community, including volunteer opportunities, and enjoy free children’s activities. Food will be for sale from various local restaurants.

1 p.m. Jan. 17 – OWU Women’s Basketball vs. DePauw, in the adjacent Branch Rickey Arena. Admission is free with a canned food donation as part of Bishop Backers Community Service Day. 2015 Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration: “Who in Our Midst is the Next MLK?”

3 p.m. Jan. 18 – The 30th annual worship service at William Street United Methodist Church, 28 W. William St., Delaware. Beryl D. Anderson, J.D., will discuss today’s youth and tomorrow’s history-makers as part of the 2015 theme, “Who in Our Midst is the Next MLK?” Anderson is a former international communications director for Rosa Parks and a former C-SPAN television personality and producer, covering the U.S. Supreme Court and related White House/Congressional issues. She is a previous Gahanna City Council member, who currently is president of her own media, business, and consulting company.

7:45 a.m. Jan. 19 – The 22nd annual MLK Breakfast Celebration sponsored by Ohio Wesleyan University and the Delaware County Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration Committee, in the Benes Room of OWU’s Hamilton-Williams Campus Center, 40 Rowland Ave., Delaware. Jennette B. Bradley, the first African American woman in the nation to be elected as a state lieutenant governor, will deliver the keynote address. In addition to serving as Ohio’s lieutenant governor from 2003 to 2005, Bradley also served as Ohio’s 45th state treasurer from 2005 to 2007. She currently operates a consulting business, J. Bradley Partners LLC. The breakfast buffet will begin at 7:45 a.m., followed by the program at 8:30 a.m. Individual breakfast tickets are $20, with eight-person table sponsorships available for $160.
